2. I LOVE her! Now THERE'S our first female president (imho) |
|
It's a shame that so many HRC supporters would be outraged if Obama put a woman other than their girl on the ticket, because I think Sebelius would make an excellent VP choice. I'd really hope she'd be in line for some high-ranking position in an Obama administration.

will be outraged no matter what. Put her on the ticket if you think she is the best choice, I say, Barack.

7. When I first heard her in January I wasn't impressed, but she was very good here. |
|
Like Obama, she sounds REAL, much more natural and genuine than Hillary does (or at least has in recent months). Die-hard HILLARY supporters might be disappointed, but the vast majority of women who have voted for Hillary based on gender would probably be OK with it, and perhaps even happy to have a woman on the ticket.

14. you have heard her speak, how many times? What do you know about her? |
|
And it is no fair to look after you have decided that she would be a better president than Clinton.
But, I am surprised at the Obama supporters who have vilified Clinton for her personal life and her choices. You know nothing about Sebelius. Did she stay with a cheating husband? Did she ever go abroad? Did she ever exaggerate? What did she do about Katrina or the Iraq war?
What do you know about her?

18. Her father was governor of Ohio, she's governor of Kansas (a RED state) |
|
I've seen her at several Obama events on C-Span, and she's great in one-on-one encounters, as well as being a good speaker. I think she's in her second term as Kansas governor, which is good enough to recommend her to me.

After 8 years in the KS legislature she ran statewide in 1994 as KS state insurance commissioner. She was the first Democrat to hold that post for 100 years or so. in 2002 she ran for governor and won by a wide margin, though arguably because of a schism in the KS GOP. She gain popularity in this red state and was easily re-elected.
She opposed a ban on Same sex marriage. She opposes capitol punishment. She vetoed a concealed carry law (which was overturned). The largest education increase in states history happened under he watch. Her position on abortion pissed of the Catholic church so much they throw a tizzy when she takes communion. Did I mention she inherited a huge debt frm GOP predecessors and eliminated it?
As far as staying with I cheating husband, I don't know and frankly don't give a fuck.
As far as Iraq and Katrina, she criticized the Bush administration for draining national guard troops and equipment making it hard for states to respond to national disasters.
She is rated as a top governor, and she is an electoral sledge hammer in the midwest, perhaps putting KS in play, helping to swing both CO and my home state of MO.
Frankly she is a perfect "50-state strategy" VP choice.
I don;t know anything about Sebelius? I studied up on her when she smacked down Bush over the National Guard issue. Just because you might not know anything about her doesn't mean no one else lacking in that knowledge.

I'm a supporter but I love Hagel, Webb (but the Hillary supporters will probably pop a blood vessel) or even Wexler (cause I loved him at the DNC).

19. Agreed about Wexler! I was SO impressed by him yesterday |
|
and his being on the ticket would DEFINITELY help in FL. What I like is that he's been at the forefront of voting issues, which is one HUGE problem that our next Democratic president should deal with.

Oh, sorry -- then there's some stuff about the campaign. B-)
Yes, Sebelius is excellent. She seems very pragmatic and sets a great tone for moving forward together to give McCain a sound thrashing this fall. Thanks for posting this.
