Convention mechanics query - How can Obama prevent |
|
the Hilbots from placing HER as the VP over his pick (assuming it is not her)?
I dearly hope he does not pick her - which leads to another question - how does he defuse her and her supporters rage?

2. He wants her to spearhead health care...either as dept head or helping him move it |
|
through the Senate.
If she truly cares about the country and health care then she will take the deal.
If not, well what can ya do?
And Hillary people can try to shove her through as VP, but look at the rules committee...even Hillary supporters sided with Obama.
I think he will get what he wants.

he gets whom he wants without a bruising convention drama.
Don't know my favorite pick now - still leaning to Dodd, as long as his Senate vacancy doesn't lead to a Rethug replacement.

I know Webb is a little rough around the edges, but he's a serious and reflective person with a good military and national security background.
He would help with the people Obama had trouble with in Ohio and PA.

7. Nancy Pelosi is my hero! |
|
I know she didn't try to impeach Bush, but I'm rather glad about that. We're getting rid of him soon anyway, and then we can expose what a lawbreaker he was.

8. The same delegates will be making that vote as well. |
|
Has there ever been a real contest for the VP nomination? I would not expect one this time either.

10. The powers that be are undoubtedly aware ... |
|
... that "forcing" Obama to accept Hillary as VP would be perceived as undermining his judgment in choosing a running mate, one more in keeping with the platform he has campaigned on.
With the GE a few months away, they are not about to do anything that would make our nominee look weak, unsure, or unsteady on his feet in the eyes of the voters.

11. I fear that her supporters will push the issue |
|
to the "bitter" end, giving the MSM a whole new side focus, distracting from the real issues.

12. But those who will vote ... |
|
... to put the VP in place will not be off-the-street supporters, nor the MSM.
I realize that some of the more crazed "Hillary supporters" think that if they make enough noise, it's going to persuade delegates to vote in terms of their agenda rather than what is best for the party's chances in November. That's not going to happen.
Those same crazed supporters (who are, despite their grandiose claims, a small fraction of the populace) have been making noise for months - and yet the SDs have been coming out steadily for Obama despite the pot banging.
After eight years of Bush, and an overwhelmingly favourable opportunity to put a Democrat in the WH, the Party is not about to lessen our chances in order to appease a bunch of petulant, disgruntled nuts.

13. Thanks for the reassurance |
|
We have a lot of work to do to repair the breach caused by these events if they go as far as making the convention a "drama" for the MSM to latch onto to our detriment.
