I respect and support Senator Obama
...but there is a lot of vitriol in this forum.

If unity is most important, then Obama supporters should act as it is.

The winning side should be the one reaching out to the losing side. There are few Clinton supporters on this forum, and there are many Obama supporters. Expecting Clinton supporters to crawl back and grovel to Obama supporters after she concedes is not a good way to unite the party. This goes in real life and in the virtual world.

The "he/she started it" argument is for children. Obama himself does not allow Clinton bashing during his speeches.

What I see on TV is much different than the ugliness that I see on GDP.

If the party is to unite then both the Clinton and Obama sides need to converge, then it is the Obama supporter who must first reach out for the handshake. Clinton supporters will be already disppointed that she is out. Is forsaking them going to make things any better?

1. The nomine NEVER unites the party
It is ALWAYS those who lose in the nomination battle that are expected to unite the party.

The nominee and that person's supporters have absolutely no power whatsoever to unite the party.

unless the one that loses does the right thing.

Lesson learned.

You don't know what was in my mind or anything else about me.

Your condescending post was not needed.

They do have the power to destroy it by believing what you just spouted, though. If Obama can't even unite the Dem party, how is he going to unite polarized groups in the Middle East?

20. That's a convenient doubt you cast on Obama to unite the party, while Hillary still has surrogates
on the circuit implying that this nomination might be "stolen" from her and that she and her followers need to "fight, fight, fight".

:eyes:

Since NC, Obama has not said anything less than complimentary about Hillary Clinton's tenacity as a candidate. Yet you accuse HIM of being unable to unite the party while some Hillary followers are mouth-foaming, spewing racist anger caught on tape and picketing committee meetings.

Sounds like projection.

Quote from post #1: The nominee and that person's supporters have absolutely no power whatsoever to unite the party.

Now get off your high horse.

4. According to the Clinton supporters, this nomination process is far from...
over yet, so there will not be any coming together until it is IMO.

6. Obama has been "reaching out" in his most recent speeches
including today in SD.

I do not see a lot of "reaching out" by Clinton or her supporters ala Ickes and the demonstrators.

Why is the onus on him?

He seems willing to accept the challenge - I await the same sentiment from Senator Clinton.

7. Actually
Traditionally its the candidate that loses in a Primary that reaches out to the candidate that wins and than goes on a tour with that candidate expressing their virtues. The opposite is going on right now with Obama saying nice things about Senator Clinton and her throwing bombs...less bombs than in April yet still throwing them none the less.

8. Excuse me for not groveling.
Ain't gonna happen. Bigger issues at stake here than the hurt feelings of Hillary backers.

Give me a break. I am sick and tired of you and your ilk looking for us to kiss your behind.

Be an adult, and make a decision about which candidate you are going to support based on what you think is best for the country.

9. This election isn't about Clinton, and it's not about Obama
it's not about whose feelings are hurt by something someone says on the internet. It's not about groveling or reaching out to the opposition or playing nicey nice.

It's about keeping McCain THE FUCK OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE.

I am quite frankly sick of the whiny "so-and-so said something mean, so they have to say they're sorry before I'll support your candidate" posts. Wake the fuck up. Clinton is done, despite the way she is acting, and it is long past time to stop this bullshit and start focusing on beating McCain.

If unity is important, Hillary supporters need to stop trying to put the turd in our pockets.

Join the Democratic party, support the nominee.
