So, I'm reading What Happened by Scotty McC and it reads like a "why we need to elect Obama" book |
|
the book is basically about what's wrong with DC and politics (the permanent campaign) and more interesting than I would have thought.
He quotes from The Art of War that all war is about deception and how that sums up Bush's administration (and Clintons to be honest). That governing has become part of the war that is the election.
Seeing Hillary and her supporters these last few days talking about how she's won the popular vote (since March) is exactly what he's talking about, and what Obama is talking about. It is dishonest and it plays to the base in a way that is destructive to governing the country.

2. K&R seems very similar to what former Bush Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neil wrote |
|
Paul O'Neil's (The Price Of Loyalty) former Secretary of the Treasury Paul O'Neill reveals that within days of taking office, President Bush was already planning the invasion of Iraq and the overthrow of Saddam. 3. I have to admit I was impressed by McClellan after his interview with... |
|
Olbermann. I had always seen him as "Simple Scotty", he struck me as not the sharpest tool in the toolbox when he was working for bush but, during his interview, he came across as quite intelligent, thoughtful. I just might buy his book and no one is more surprised than I that I am seriously considering it.

I was impressed with him after the Oberman interview, too. I always thought he was a doofus, and now I think I was wrong. He seemed sincere in all he said.

5. better than I thought it would be |
|
I really tried not to read it. I didn't want to "reward" him because he waited too long to say this.
But, after seeing him interviewed a couple of places, I just "had to."
I'm actually listening to it and Scotty reads the audio version. At first I thought that a horrid mistake as he sort of sounds like a hick (his reading that is). But, once I got used to it, there is something more interesting about this young man who was/is not ultra sophisticated explaining how he "woke up." Which to me is the most interesting part of the story.
Along the way he tells of hints he got (Karen implying she knew about Bush's arrest and conviction for drunk driving early on) and how it was only later that he connected the dots.
I have to say, I can see how it happened to him. After all, I defended the Clintons against ALL critics for 16 years only to find out they are not very honorable people. And I'm no kid.
