27. I believe KO when he says he's winning in the ratings, and he's on every night at my house, |
|
but I also know that demographics count for a lot, since my previous job was writing about TV and so I followed the ratings.
Both "Murder, She Wrote" and "Matlock" bit the dust, even though they were highly rated, but they didn't attract the right demographics, meaning the elderly. I explained to my publicist friends at CBS that my 90-year-old grandmother and her even older gentleman friend were regular viewers of "Murder, She Wrote," so they probably skewed the ratings...:D

ad buys & $ that can be charged for advertising.

care about. They don't really care that O'Reilly's show is background noise in every Nursing Home in the country.

21. Maybe it will follow the Leno/Letterman model |
|
In the early days of the latenight TV wars after Johnny Carson retired, Letterman beat Leno regularly.
Then, one night, Hugh Grant showed up on Leno to explain why he shunned Liz Hurley to have sex with a hooker.
Leno won the ratings war from that night on.
Maybe Scott McClellan is Keith Olbermann's Hugh Grant.
I like to think so, because that puts Bush in the role of the hooker. ("$50, same as in Texas.")

but he has treated her with more respect than the windbags at MSNBC. So, KO wins the 25-54 demographic one night and it's a big deal? MSNBC has become a joke of a network and lost all semblance of objectivity a long time ago. CNN is only slightly better. I get most of my news from PBS, C-Span and foreign sources.

first you deny being an O'Reilly fan, then go on to praise him. Unfortunately, this embracing of Fox and other RW outlets has become a pattern with Clinton supporters. BTW, from what I can tell CNN is in the tank for Hillary.
