Roger Stone, GOP Dirty Trickster. And Swinger!
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 02:03 AM by Stephanie

Btw Ickes and this guy I am so creeped out by the sixty-something skeevy operatives!

Michelle Obama Said "Whitey" In Fox News Fantasyland

The rumor that the Republican Party has a tape of Michelle Obama railing against "whitey" in Rev. Jeremiah Wright's church apparently surfaced two weeks ago on No Quarter, a blog operated by Larry Johnson, a self-described former CIA analyst and supporter of Obama's Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton. No evidence has emerged to corroborate the wild rumor, but Fox News went ahead and aired the charges on camera today. The justification?

To get the perspective of admitted political smear artist Roger Stone. In a neat demonstration of the media echo chamber, Stone said he hadn't heard of the purported video, but now believes it exists because so many TV news networks have called to ask him about it.

The Dirty Trickster
Campaign tips from the man who has done it all.

by Jeffrey Toobin
June 2, 2008

Roger Stone has worked with Richard Nixon and Lee Atwater, and on the Florida recount.

A sign inside the front door of Miami Velvet, a night club of sorts in a warehouse-style building a few minutes from the airport, states, “If sexual activity offends you in any way, do not enter the premises.” At first glance, though, the scene inside looks like a nineteen-eighties disco, with a bar, Madonna at high volume, flashing lights, a stripper’s pole, and a dancer’s cage. But a flat-screen television on the wall plays porn videos, and many clubgoers disappear into locker rooms and emerge wearing towels. From there, some of them go into a lounge, a Jacuzzi room, or one of about half a dozen private rooms to have sex—with their dates or with new acquaintances. Miami Velvet is the leading “swingers’ club” in Miami, and Roger Stone took me there to explain the role he may have played in the fall of Eliot Spitzer, the former governor of New York.

So, One Day, Roger Stone Brings Jeffrey Toobin to a Swinger's Club…

This week's New Yorker profile of gonzo GOP operative Roger Stone tells us a lot of things that we already knew, like how he was involved in some shady dealings trying to help Richard Nixon get elected, that he claims credit for shutting down the Miami-Dade ballot recount in 2000, and that he may have made a threatening phone call to Eliot Spitzer's dad last year. But Jeffrey Toobin's lengthy piece tells us several things we did not know, nor had we ever considered. For example, Toobin, as a result of interviewing Stone, has now visited Miami Velvet, the leading "swinger's club" in Miami. Other amazing tidbits below:

  • Donald Trump hates Stone almost as much as he hates Rosie O'Donnell: “Roger is a stone-cold loser,” he said. “He always tries taking credit for things he never did.”

  • “The key to a good Martini is you have to marinate the olives in vermouth first,” Stone explains, adding that Nixon gave him the recipe. Nixon got it from Winston Churchill, apparently.

  • According to Stone, legendary McCarthy lawyer Roy Cohn "was not gay": "He was a man who liked having sex with men." We knew that was the party line back in the eighties; we just didn't know people still believed it.

  • Women "love" Stone's back tattoo, which is of Richard Nixon's face.

  • After years of denying that he and his wife placed swinger's ads for "similar couples or exceptional muscular…single men," Stone finally admitted that they paid for the ads.

  • Stone drinks four triple espressos a day.

  • He also has owned up to four Jaguars at once.

  • He claims to have played a crucial role in piecing together the Eliot Spitzer hooker-ring bust.

Which is all pretty interesting, except Stone has made a living out of being somewhat outrageous and credit hogging. We're frankly still stuck on the image of Jeffrey Toobin at a swinger's club:

A flat-screen television on the wall plays porn videos, and many clubgoers disappear into locker rooms and emerge wearing towels. From there, some of them go into a lounge, a Jacuzzi room, or one of about half a dozen private rooms to have sex — with their dates or with new acquaintances.

To make matters more clichéd, Stone brought along a bottle of p.i.n.k. vodka for the visit. Oh, Jeffrey! You're America's overinformed uncle! What are you doing in a den of sin like that? What if you accidentally sat in the wet spot? You could never talk to Sandra Day O'Connor again!

8. What I don't understand about the Grand Old Party is how they can talk out of both sides
of their lying mouths?

If you are the moral majority, how can you also be the den of inquities?

As for the swingers club, I don't know that the 1970s ever left us. Once you get a taste for the wild side, it never leaves.

9. Yes, they are insane and yes they think their "values" are better
Whatever it takes to win.

As far as the whitey on tape rumor, if Fox has it THEY NEED TO PRODUCE it.

Smear, queers and jeers. They are going to try to lynch (I do mean lynch as is in the old fashioned scare black people to death lynch) the Obamas. The stuff HRC did in this primary will be child's play.

They are going to call us all the ethnic pride this nation has to produce and then sic it on the Obamas.

20. She wasn't even on my radar until recently
But given that teaming with Stone that she did on the flag pin crap, I damn sure am watching out for her byline now.

And good on you for posting the thread about Stone. People need to think about where this garbage is originating.
