Poll question: How many look back and and feel proud of the way they handled themselves during this primary?
Just a moment for some self-reflection. I see no need to split this up between clinton supporters and obama supporters. Just a question for all DU and GD: P regulars: looking back over the last half-year or more, when you reflect on the primary season and everything that has gone on in this forum, how do you feel about your personal contribution.

1. Prediction: if this goes the way I think it will....
You'll see almost everyone in the first, third or last box.

Which in and of itself should tell us something about the state of the community. One of the biggest things missing on anonymous internet boards is any sense of accountability. After everything we've seen here, that more people can't say at least I feel I should have done better is sort of telling.

I know in my own mind, I'd say the people who should feel nothing but pride in how they've handled themselves are in the minority - I don't even put myself there, and I have worked hard to be an honest broker and fair-minded. When I think back to all the vile filth that has run rampant on these boards from either side over the last six months, and then I see "I'm totally proud" leading the results... it tells me something about how seriously to take DU.

2. I have supported Sen. Clinton without disrespecting Sen. Obama. That's something of which I'm
proud, I guess, although, it just seems like being "proud" is self aggrandizing. I just stuck to my usual ways, supporting a Democrat, always.

3. I am proud of the way I represented my candidate
I am proud of the way I conducted myself ... with a few exceptions here and there.

11. You should be proud, I give myself a similar grade
It helped that this was at least my second full time around the merry go round. I remembered that the approaching unity moment was always on the way, and that there was no way I could be sure what it would look like when it got here.

7. I am proud of the way I handled myself. I am also proud of many
supporters of the other candidates. They give me hope.

8. # 2- I think I could have done more to represent Him-Him-Her (Obama will be number 4)
I allowed myself to enter into petty fights rather then ignoring them as an adult ought to.

9. I picked: "I feel I could have done better, but handled myself well much of the time"
For the most part I tried to treat people the way that I would like to be treated. After all, the toes you step on today may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow.

My biggest regret was believing the bullshit Mickey Kantor video. I didn't alert the media, thank god, but I still feel pretty fucking gullible for falling for that. Not my finest hour.

13. Me!
I went all moderatorly after the primaries were already in full swing. I blame masochism, but you could chalk it up to a desire to felicitate a better tone on DU.

And before I went on my mod stint and was more active in GDP, I never posted a single, solitary post that contained an attack on any DUer, and took people on both sides to task when they did. So, yeah, I'm pretty proud of myself. O8)
