I think I'm going to do it, talk me out of it. |
|
I think I'm going to make the two hour drive, and stand in line, and go see Barak Obama on his night of victory tomorrow.
Then I'll have to make the two hour drive home, which will take forever to get going because of the traffic.

There is ALWAYS a line, though. Kinda like Pink's. At all hours. And next to Tito's is a World Class pastrami sandwich place. Johnnie's. Not to be missed.

At least I am betting on him being so. I have a picture with him taken in 2004. I just wanted a picture of him, but he insisted on me being in it. My daughter quickly photo shopped me out of it, at my request. I hate having my picture taken and sure enough, I looked like a fat white blob next to him, with only a silly grin on my face really showing up in the picture. The white hair doesn't help me show up in the photo either.
My sister has talked me into putting myself back in the photo, but it really doesn't look that much like me now anyway(at least I hope it doesn't) I have lost some weight (mostly fluid) since then, because back then I was very blotted/swollen even in my face. Oh well, the important person in the picture was him anyway. ;)

I actually thought about driving up from Chicago... But I'm going to hope that he gives his Presidential victory speech in November in Springfield on the State Capital steps, where he announced his candidacy. And I'm going to be there, come hell or high water (or, since it will be Illinois in November, come sleet or snow...).

Sign up to work as a volunteer if it's not too late --- volunteers usually get to hang out close to the stage, and Senator Obama meets with some of the volunteers after a rally.
Or get there as early as you can.
