Congratulations for a hard fought and impressive effort during this phenomenal and historic primary season! We’ve watched in awe as record turnouts were seen across the nation. New citizens and formerly apathetic voters were brought into the process. By your perseverant efforts in this close race, every state and territory will have had a greater role in this process than in earlier years, even Michigan and Florida.

The tenacity and energy of your campaign against your opponent, Senator Barack Obama, has served to better prepare him for what is sure to be a challenging contest against the Republicans, and for that we thank you.

Last but not least, you truly have shattered the glass ceiling that might previously prevented a woman from considering a bid for the U.S. presidency. Let no one tell you that you merely cracked it; by coming this close to winning you have eliminated any doubt that a qualified and capable woman can indeed become president. Best wishes in the future as you continue to advocate for those in need around the world.
