Hillary's Endorsement of Obama |
|
She'll probably try to postpone it, but when she gets around to it, here's how it should happen:
Hillary should take the stage with Obama with both families in the background. He should thank them for an incredible campaign, yada, yada, yada.
Hillary should take the mike and reciprocate, and announce her unflagging support for Obama, yada, yada, yada.
The whole thing should end with them holding hands up in the air, confetti falling, music playing, and here's the important part:
With the confetti falling, a photo-op with Chelsea kneeling down, talking to Obama's cute little girls.
It would make one of those heart-melting scenes that would be a good signal that the democratic battle is over, and everyone is headed full steam ahead into McCain.

3. Well, they did say they'd be friends before, during, and after the race. |

4. Fake? Of course. It's politics. |
|
You don't have to look back very far to see adversaries who have gotten much more angry, said much worse things about each other, joining forces and act like old drinking buddies.
Over the next few days, you will probably get sick of the expression, "grudging respect."
They'll drop the word "grudging" after the first 200 times they say it.

5. Right afterward, Hillary would complain to the first reporter she was snubbed. |

6. I seriously doubt that... |
|
There are plenty of things to say about Hillary, but she is an expert at acting in her own best interests.
You could worry she'll tank the process down the road so she could get elected in 2012, or lots of other things. Arguments can be made for those pranks.
But she is already trying to make the party faithful statements, even as she seems to be trying to get leverage for a spot on the ticket or whatever.
To make direct statements that would get herself ostracized from the party without furthering any ambition is not in keeping with her past.

7. After about a week, everyone on DU is expected to |
|
get behind the nominee or get out. That makes perfect sense to me.
However, I think there should be an additional requirement. The asshats who made unfounded statements and accusations against Clinton should shut up as well.
