Why Would a GOPer Admit to Putting Obama in a Dress NOW? To Divide and Conquer Us, Of Course.
Oh Boy! Now that Hillary Clinton is reportedly ready to concede tomorrow, sparing Democrats the horror of a brokered Democratic Convention in Denver, the same RW dirty tricksters who fed Matt Drudge the Obama in a Dress photo in the first place are now telling the world that they did it, not Hillary Clinton Ha! Ha! .

http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080602/NEWS0201/806020344&referrer=FRONTPAGECAROUSEL

Now, can the Clinton supporters stop jumping up and down while screaming “We told you so!” and can the Obama supporters stop posting flamebait trying to get threads which discuss the issue locked by the mods so that we can talk about what it is that the Republican members of CREEP II are trying to do with this new tactic?

It does not even matter if this Tennessee Hobbs is the one who plotted the dirty trick with Drudge, because anyone with an ounce of sense knew all along that this was a classic Republican prank, straight out of Pat Buchanan’s old 1972 strategy guide which went “Tar one Democrat but make it look like the attack came from another Democrat so that the other guy will look like a bastard---or in this case a bitch ”. This has been the formula for painting Obama as an un-American Muslim and Hillary Clinton as a wicked witch all throughout their own primary while letting rootin’ tootin’ straight shootin’ John McCain keep his liver spotted hands clean.

I have only told you about this strategy a dozen times now in my journals, starting back in December. But does anyone listen? Hell, no. It is more fun to blame Clinton for things that Fox News and Matt Drudge do and more fun to say that Obama is unelectable because of things that Fox News and Matt Drudge do.

As if any of this matters to Americans who are losing their homes and their jobs and their sons and daughters in Iraq. Pathetic.

You do realize that this latest move on the part of the right wing is a test run of an RNC weapon, just like the test run of the Raygun they are going to use on anti-war protesters.

http://www.placerherald.com/detail/85872.html

Only this is a psy-ops weapon. This is designed to get Clinton supporters to say "See, we told you so!" and "Obama said he wouldn't use oppo but he used oppo" in righteous indignation as if that is going to make any difference at this point, while Obama supporters search for some way to ease their conscience. "Well, maybe this guy is just lying" or "We knew all along that Clinton was a Republican!" and "Clinton used oppo first!" Until it becomes clear that everyone is arguing just to argue, and no one is listening to the other side anymore.

With this kind of response to itsy-bitsy provocation like “Clinton didn’t really put Obama in a dress, boy did you get punked” imagine what you people will do to each other if the Washington Post finally decides to write about Amaya Smith’s “Race Memo” after all these months of studiously ignoring it ( Oh, my. Look what we found here! How could we have missed this before? Silly us. )

My suggestion, everybody take a deep breath. Relax. The nominating process is over. It does not matter anymore how we got here. Clinton, Obama, who cares? Not the voters. They just want a decent Democrat who will save them from four more years of Bush policies. It is time to close ranks. Anything that any right winger does or says from this point forward is designed to cause dissension in the ranks.

And because Democratic Underground is full of Republicans right now, there will be countless voices crying out “No surrender!” Ignore them. They know that our solidarity is our strength. They last thing they want is for all the people who went away during the primary to come back during the general election.

Solidarity !

:dem:

That Video of Michelle was altered. Have you researched into that? I look forward to your analysis of that occurence....and the history behind it.

6. I already posted about that the night it happened. It's in my journals.

And as for doctored video, people here might want to remember that Matt Drudge also doctored Hillary Clinton's 60 Minutes interview and Media Matters and several other progressive media watchdog sites called him on it, but Matt Drudge was still cited as a reliable source by KO and at DU because people were allowing the RNC to divide and conquer the Democrats by offering little tidbits of oppo that looked free but which were actually being bought on the political installment plan with huge interest payments scheduled to come due as soon as the McCain campaign decided to collect them.

I told you people all of this months ago. I said that you were going to be in a circular firing squad. Now your own candidate is trying to get his own surrogates to shut their mouths so that he can run a general election campaign and no one will listen. And it is not Clinton's fault and it is not Obama's fault. It is the fault of the people who will not stop responding to the provocation that is being thrown at them.

2. what threw some people for a loop and continues to do so is the
Clinton supporters embrace of Fox news and the rightwing propaganda machine. Fox news a organization that openly supports Republicans and demonizes anything left of center.

12. I agree with that - their Clinton-hatred far exceeds anything found on FR
(however - I must object to your characterizaton of "anti-Clinton folk - I happen to be a JE supporter - so could also classified as such. But - I do know to whom you are referring.)

5. a realignment of the parties is in progress
And those with a natural affinity for the wingnut kind of ugly are being pulled to the dark side. To be honest I'm actually fine with it and think that natural purge of the antithesis of what I always thought the Democratic Party stood for is a good thing.

7. Obama and Clinton have both been on Fox News. Haven't seen either of then French O'Reilly
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 04:51 AM by McCamy Taylor
but I will be sure to post pics if it happens.

I have seen as many Obama supporters quote people like Peggy Noonan and George Will and Matt Drudge and Moonie publications other Republican and Right Wing sources at DU as I have seen Clinton supporters do the reverse----maybe even more Obama supporters doing it since there are more of them.

8. going on Fox news to have contact with Fox viewers is different
than going on Fox news talking about how fair they are and how corrupt the democratic party is. This is a news organization that has covered up every scandal of the Bush administration.

9. Fox news was the reason Mediamatters & Newshounds
was created and there's a huge difference between average citizens ranting online and Clinton Officials praising Fox for their fair coverage. (they were appealing to Fox viewers for votes)3 yrs ago everywhere I would go - Fox on the tube spreading their lies.

10. I heard (from Clinton *supporters*) that Rush
was defending her against the DNC on his show today. *They* feel vindicated. Yet, on his website, he has a huge montage of all of Clinton's drinking pictures.

They are guilty of buying RW talking points, and I'm afraid of where it might lead them.

I never cared one bit about Obama in native dress. I haven't jumped on the media bandwagons. Anything I feel for the woman is due to things I have heard her say or see her do.

15. That is the problem: Obama supporters hate Clinton and will
look for any reason to justify their hate--even look to the right-wing-liars as sources.

And: Obama did it too. With no facts or proof, blamed Clinton. Just like the supporters on this board. Indeed they site that picture as one of the reasons they cannot support Clinton and why she is a racist.

YOur bad.

20. OTOH, McCain would probably be inclined to do that sort of thing later.
Hillary's campaign would want to punch Obama now. McCain would wait until the week before Election Day to punch Obama with whatever he can dig up.

That's what McCamy is doing here. Very good post. I noticed that there were the ones you warned us about hopping on your post just as soon as they could. Some may be lurking republicans and some may be just clueless. But all they do is gum up the works and help mccain.

stick together or the nation will die.
I mentioned the possibility of pseudo-DUer's a couple of months ago and now it seems to be accepted truth. Don't care who gets the credit as long as we stop the bickering and get on with re-claiming this nation and restoring the Constitution.

24. It has seemed a little taboo here
to hint that we have a plethora of posers on DU. If you try to call someone on it, you get deleted. The country will go its own way and we will fight mccain with all we've got, but the only thing that will save DU is for the posers to get marked. Since it is apparent that the nomination is finished, I think that those who still want to throw rocks at other candidates should be suspect.
