Let's attend to business downticket, too.

Fired up!

1. Undecided
For perhaps the first time I am truly undecided how to vote in the 3rd district congressional election. All of the other races are uncontested in my district. I wish Boswell would have retired gracefully after this term to open up the seat in this presidential election year. It may be a tougher seat to hold onto in the first mid-term election under total democratic control in 2010.

Any Iowans familiar on the race want to try to persuade me?

3. We're in the 3rd district too and voting for Fallon this time, primarily
because of Boswell's support of the Patriot Act and its reauthorization as well as this vote for the IWR. He also voted for the FISA law, which pissed me off to no end. I was on the phone with his office before the vote. Then I was on the phone after the vote and believe me I was not my normally courteous self. I did apologize to the young lady I gave feedback to because it wasn't her fault that her boss voted that way.

The other thing that po'd me mightily was some of the very ugly campaign brochures I've been receiving from his office this time. Enough, already.

5. Thanks for the info
I was disgusted by the anti-Fallon mailer regarding the sexual predator law. What a low blow that was totally uncalled for, IMO.

6. I got that brochure too. Boswell went Willie Horton on Iowa.
We must have received a half a dozen of those obnoxious glossy brochures in the mail last Saturday--they went straight in to the burn barrel.

4. Yeah, it's pretty windy here and we've had pretty heavy rains this
morning. I need to go to the pharmacy but don't really want to get caught out in something this morning. We're going to the polls around 4 pm.
