1. Obama/Clinton would be an abomination.

How do you run an effective GE campaign when your VP has spent the last 16 months claiming you were inexperienced and sexist?

8. Obama/Clinton would be consistent with the usual Dem strategy...
...snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

As long as Obama stays away from Clinton, Kerry and Gore as running mates, he should do fine in the GE.

4. She could help him win
Arkansas and West Virginia and with him winning Georgia Virginia and Louisiana the south will finally go Democrat.

5. All else being equal, she COULD help him win those states. But all else isn't equal.
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 10:13 AM by Brotherjohn
A large part of Obama's appeal is a new face and the promise of change in Washington. I don't mean his appeal to died-in-the-wool Democrats or progressives. I mean to middle America.

Selecting Hillary as VP would undercut the entire thrust of Obama's campaign. While I believe it might help him in some states, I think it would hurt him overall.

Not to mention COMPLETELY energizing the right to come out in masses, just to vote against her. When she was running in NY, there were bumper stickers and yard signs in FLORIDA for her opponent!

7. I'm actually hoping he does!
I had both a Hillary and an Obama sticker on both of my vehicles for months and months and only took off the Hillary stickers when things got nasty.

9. No "dream ticket" - at a minimum, she handicaps him on IWR having voted for it
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 10:15 AM by CakeGrrl
He set himself apart from her by making that distinction. Among a number of other reasons I've listed over and over, he should not take away one of his strongest arguments against McCain by allowing the Republicans to weaken the ticket's stance on that point.

15. You actually have to ask this question?!?!
Seriously, after this campaign and all of the pathetic stunts she's pulled to drag him into the mud (and hasn't worked), someone would have to ask this question?
