Aides: N.Y. senator will stop short of formally suspending or ending her race

CNN Headlines: Breaking News

Hillary Clinton not prepared to admit Barack Obama has beaten her in race for Democratic nomination, her campaign chairman told CNN.

Clinton said she was "absolutely" not prepared to admit Obama has beaten her in the race, according to Terry McAuliffe, her campaign chairman.

Media reports saying she was ready to concede was "100 per incorrect," he said.

Obama "doesn't have the numbers today, and until someone has the numbers the race goes on," McAuliffe told CNN, denying a report by The Associated Press that a concession was near.

What are they saying on the networks? What's it gonna be, Hillary?

9. ....

You nailed it.

All day yesterday I was arguing that she WOULDN"T quit today, and when I saw the first headline I was shocked (and thrilled) I was wrong.

Should have known better.

10. I'm not going to anything as gospel UNTIL I hear it from Clinton herself -
and even then, I'll be somewhat suspicious, I'm ashamed to admit.

I don't think we'll hear from her until she makes her speech tonight.

7. This is why I can't watch cr@p not news or mendacity supplied nightly.
On Morning Joe today, there were dire predictions of a weak Obama candidacy. They're indistinguishable from Faux.

11. I'm getting off on it, kind of --
But there's an underlying anxiety that we've got to get it together and COME together so we can ALL focus on pulverizing McCain.

Obama a weak candidacy? Those guys are so lame.

12. I agree with another post
That stated this was all about taking over the media tonight and stealing Obama's moment!

With all the confusion over what she will do, her camp hopes to get the attention of the media so she will have the spotlight. What she says, or what she does after tonight is anyones guess. There have been so many times when the "end" was near, yet it never happened.

I hope this is just one more shot at being the center of attention, and after tonight she just bows out and lets the Obama camp take on McCain, that's what need to be done, go after him, not waste time with anything else!

19. It wouldn't surprise me if it's a tactic to get press --
I can't imagine one of her staff "leaking" vital info like that if it wasn't sanctioned -- or directed.

Hopefully, there will be an avalanche of SD endorsements - if not tonight, then tomorrow - that will make her little story fade into obscurity.

Regardless, I have no hopes of her bowing out and letting the Obama camp take on McCain. She has disappointed me (and pissed me off) time after time, and I don't give her the benefit of the doubt any more.
