Poll question: Do you think Obama will pick Hillary for his VP?
I'm giving Hillary the 24 hour benefit of the doubt.

Lets say she concedes tonight and endorses Obama. There will be no fight all the way to the convention after all.

Here on DU, we have a well established opinion of Hillary - but DU does not represent out there.

Personally, I have no intention of dancing on the grave of Hillary's campaign. Again, assuming benefit of doubt - I congratulate her very competitive spirit as well as her tenacious supporters. We need to unify to beat the rethugs this fall.

A few weeks ago, the corporate media pundits were saying "no way" Obama would pick Hillary as her VP, but as heads begin to cool and the end finally in sight - there seems to be more talk of it as a possibility.

IMO, Hillary would be best in a Cabinet position or Senatorial leadership role. Being the change candidate that Obama is, Hillary is way to inside the beltway. My preference is Bill Richardson; and yet many will say that Hillary has earned the right to be VP.

Trying to separate your feelings about Hillary from what you think Obama will do:

Do you think Obama will pick Hillary for his VP?

p.s. Obama has my support no matter who he picks!:)

1. Clinton will have to go back to the Senate
where she has a choice: become a respected colleague and eventual leader in the Senate, as many failed candidates have done; or she can use her time in the Senate to work on another Presidential run in the future.

4. I don't think Hillary would take second-fiddle
I don't think her ego would let her.

And if she did, I get the feeling that she would feel entitled to a Bush/Cheney-like co-presidency. If she got it, I think it would weaken the office of the President as she tries to run things and push Obama aside, and if she didn't I think it would make her a thorn in Obama's side.

5. The only good reason for Hillary to be on the ticket is
if you are OK with her being President. If your reason is purely pragmatic for the sake of getting the support of her constituency, I believe there are too many negatives that would offset this benefit. Remember, she is an extremely divisive national figure and Obama could lose a lot of votes from Republicans who are genuinely inspired by his message of unity and change.

6. I voted very slight chance. I'm sure he has folks polling the hell
out of potential picks in every state of the union.

She is not my choice but if he picks her he has a good reason.

7. Obama will offer Clinton the VP
But Clinton will have certain demands that Obama will not accept. They will then negotiate and agree on a candidate from the Clinton camp, most like Wesley Clark.

9. Where to? Back to her adopted state of NY as their Senator for
as long as they want her in that position. I don't know how satisfied New Yorkers are with her service, but her IWR vote would have ticked me off if she was my Senator.

10. No idea...
I don't think it's probably a good idea though. We need someone who's more credible on foreign affairs.
