Is this the end of the sub-forum we all hate to love? How quickly after we have a nominee will General Discussion: Primaries disappear? What the hell will I do with myself? Will there be a GD:GE thread?
The times they are a-changing.

3. I think we need a better definition of "have a nominee" than the Democratic Party |
|
has thus far provided? Seriously. I've been frustrated by all of the "Can't we get rid of GD:P now?" threads that have appeared over the past few weeks, but now I am getting concerned. Do we have a nominee once one candidate hits 2118? Or do we have to wait for suspension of the other's campaign? What if Hillary never suspends because she wants to influence the Democratic Party platform at the convention?

7. Read the directives from Admin at the top of GDP postings. |
|
Skinner says that there will be a one week wind down period after there is a "presumptive nominee." It's pretty clear. Coming soon and I couldn't be happier. I look forward to a post mortem on the wisdom of having GDP cuz I have a few things on my mind...

5. I just had a thought - |

what happens to the Hillary supporters on DU if she doesn't concede? I don't think she will.
We are to turn our focus to trouncing McCain and getting behind Obama, which is as it should be!
However, somewhat uncharacteristically, I kind of feel bad for the Hillary supporters. They've really been through a LOT and have fought a valiant battle here on DU. If Hillary keeps on going, and DU switches to Obama Only mode, what happens to them? They ARE a part of the DU community.

6. Probably going back to the original GD-P (GD-Politics) |
|
In retrospect the creation of GD-Politics to keep the bickering camps from swamping GD and sending everything else off page 1 of the forum was a decision that was WAY ahead of its time.
Once upon a time back in Dec of 2003 I thought it was the Clarkies (no offense intended) that were extreme! LOL. Little did I know of what was coming.

I hate GD:Politics, wtf? Mostly everything on DU is politics. GD:GE is much more descriptive.
