If Hillary does not urge unity tonight, if she talks about taking it to the convention, I am done. |
|
I've really urged restraint in hammering on Hillary, even when I knew what she (or her campaign) did was wrong. I wasn't in her camp (ever), but I respect her as a Democrat, and I don't like to see us cannibalizing our own talent.
But, if she is rebellious tonight, if she lashes out again, if she refuses to acknowledge the inevitable, she's lost me.
I have this feeling that she's going to put on the same act she did after Indiana and Pennsylvania. I really hope the campaign isn't preparing for civil war.
I just can't defend her if she's serious about taking it to the convention.

1. I think she'll behave herself from now on. She can't |
|
afford to ruin any more of her reputation if she has any expectations of remaining in politics, and the big dawg has done barked his last. ;)

6. I don't know, she has nothing left to lose at this point |
|
She's already destroyed her image to many people and I highly doubt she would be up for another run in 2012 for a potential 8 year term.
I don't see her dropping out. She will triangulate and use carefully selected language, but I don't think she will concede or urge unity in any meaningful way. I honestly believe that she will try to keep the fires of division running long enough to hurt Obama, the one who dared to challenge the dynasty.

15. I agree. We can hope for the best, but the only logical way to predict... |
|
a person's actions is by assessing their previous patterns of behavior.
For her to shift into kumbaya mode now would be completely out of pattern and character for her, based on her actions in the campaign to date.
As I said, I hope for the best, but I plan for what is logically to occur.

16. I've been thinking that for about six weeks now, and she keeps proving me wrong. |
|
But I REALLY hope you're right about tonight. This night needs to belong to Obama, and to history.

4. Pisses me off about her using my beloved Tom Petty. Haven't |
|
listened to him on my Ipod lately because of that.
It's all Neil Young, baby!

What's her case for legitimacy? Where are the numbers to prove he didn't win? Where are the legion of superdelegates who are willing to see this through? Where is the money going to come from?
Her entire case has been based on selective poll numbers (which consistently show that DEMS prefer Obama) and "popular vote" (which takes a LOT of fudging) and a handful of angry white women storming the meeting on Saturday. But once Barack hits the magic number, according to the rules of the DNC, she doesn't have a leg to stand on.

Let's hope she agrees with you and that we can move on.
And let's do our best to stay positive with the Clinton supporters.

10. Just like her non-apology apologies, I predict with 100% confidence that tonight |
|
she will give a non-concession concession speech that will mainly point the blame elsewhere and keep all her supporters on a thin thread of hope that she'll still win in Denver. The pattern with her is now pathological.

13. I'm waiting for her to use thinly veiled slurs and affirmative action |
|
I want her to prove me wrong.
I want her to say the racial stuff went way too far from bitter voters to resenting former VP nominees...
TOO much. We did our best but Obama was the better candidate. He won this contest fair and square using the rules in place by the DNC. He is the rightful nominee.

18. Guarantee you a plea for money in the first five minutes. |
|
That's what all of this is about. Forget the campaign debt..she and Bill are in hock to all of those folks who have been filling the coffers over the last eight years. Those promises that will go unfilled when she is no longer in the running for the POTUS.
