I only wish Ann Dunham (Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro) was alive to see this.
I think about Barack Obama's mom a lot and I think genetically and spiritually a lot of what is great about him comes from her. I think she'd be mightily impressed and swelling with pride at the accomplishments and history made by her son. From what I know of her, she seems to have the essence of the quintessential liberal and progressive.

This world needs more people like her.

So, as happy as I am this is finally coming home with a victory for Obama, I am sad to think Barack's mother can only be here with us in spirit. But with hope and faith that our country will get better, I'd like to make my own personal tribute to her on what will be the start of a new beginning.

14. I must say that I really like that picture, and I've saved the
Time magazine that had it on the cover! It just looks like a Mom and her son, and look where the son is today!

Sentimental on my part I realize, I'm a Mom of 3 boys, and it just struck me that this looks like photos of my family. :toast:

8. Sigh. Me, too.
She's in my avatar, but I think avatars are down right now due to heavy traffic.

I salute you, Stanley Ann. Most unconventional nominee's mom ever!
