**** SD: Ausman for Obama, oh wait, Clinton ******
http://blogs.tampabay.com/buzz/2008/06/ausmans-pick-cl.html

Ausman's (FL) pick: Clinton

Tallahassee superdelegate Jon Ausman acknowledged moments ago that Barack Obama is a "terrific candidate" and "he is going to be our candidate." But Ausman said he is supporting Hillary Clinton.

"I'm sending a message that he needs to unify our party," Ausman said.

Ausman said he spoke with Sen. Clinton earlier today for about 25 minutes, at a time when he was leaning toward supporting Sen. Obama. He said the call itself didn't sway him, but hearing from media reports that Obama had received enough super-delegate support to get the nomination.

"Once I knew Obama had enough votes anyway, I decided I wanted to send a message of unity," Ausman said.

**************

Looks like the reports that Obama has already won is actually hurting the guy. This is a little nuts.

1. Interesting --
His plan was one of the two that the DNC adopted that Clinton supporters seemed pissed about.

2. And what he said suggests a plot
to hold back her full support unless given the slot.

3. LOL how does that encourage unity?
Even though we know who the nominee is I'm going to support Clinton who I now know can't win.

Uh, what? This guy seems a little confused.

4. A message of unity is to vote against the nominee? How does that work?

5. He had trouble constructing a logical argument about endorsing anyone....
He thought he "shall" endorse Obama at one point, but after months of contemplating what that might mean, a stumped Ausman realized he "shall" also be "permitted" to endorse Hillary. In confusion, he tossed a coin, contemplated its ambiguous result for a few days, and took the only logical step he could.

7. I just realized if you parse his endorsement enough, its possible he really did endorsed Obama,
but only if you give him 200% voting power, which could be accomplished by reading every other word of the DNC Rules, article 2, subsection 3 (and translating such to latin first). So he is clearly in the Obama court, with complete unity.

6. "ARE actually hurting the guy." And you're still wrong.
Jimmy Carter is throwing his lot in with Obama. Sounds A-OK to me.

8. Is Ausman a DLC'er??
Just wondering if this thing Salazar is pushing is an organized DLC plot to desperately hold on to power by forcing Hillary on to the ticket.

10. To quote, "As Good As It Gets",
Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here.
