5. I would feel the same way
That I would have felt if Edwards had endorsed Hillary. That the message he had been preaching of "change" for this country, and change in the way things are done in D.C., was simply a false promise in order to get elected. You can't run on an agenda of change, and then pick someone who is the poster child for the corrupt politics that need to be changed, as your VP. It just won't work to get you elected.

But I support the party's nominee, whoever it is, once selected.

And I support that nominee's running mate, whoever it is, once selected.

21. thank you.....I think some folks here are living in a kindergarten reality!
I suspect that I am one of the most left-wing members of this forum.

But politics is always full of deals and compromises and "dining with the devil himself".

That is REAL politics in the REAL world.

23. Heartbroken
I have spent some time talking to my neighbor about this race.
He is a musician who loves to listen to and play country music.
He worked as a truck driver for many years.
He is an African American veteran who fought in vietnam and is living with the effects of Agent Orange poisoning.
He found a bill of sale from a slave trade in his mother's effects after she died.
He has framed and hanging on his wall.

He was all but ignoring this race until Obama gave his speech on race.
He never thought he would see this moment in history.

He has truly felt pain over some of the racially charged moments in this campaign.
I would be sympathetic to his and other friend's feelings about it.

Hillary Clinton is not the devil. But, it is too early to move on after some of the damage that has been inflicted.

25. You have a point there butterfly77, the message of ' Change ' might not fair to well. ..BUT, on the
other hand, she'll make a great V.P. attack dog willing & able to hold her own against anything McSAME or his VP pick can throw at her. The trick here is to LAY OUT the OBAMA GROUND RULES upfront as an absolute requirement that she MUST adhere to follow without any pre-conditions. It's his party now and he calls the shots, thats something she knows all too well including keeping hubby Bill in check outright. Quite frankly, I would have rather preferred that Obama started with a body of fresh new V.P. candidates and a clean selection slate rather than re-cycle such a polarizing figure like Hillary and with all the Clinton baggage trailing behind her and then some.

41. I don't think she can pull any of the ' Alpha-Clinton ' stunts with Obama. I believe we haven't
seen Obama's true fiery nature yet considering he had to contain himself and walk a delicate response tight-rope against Hillary Clinton's unrelentless barrage of unwarranted attacks against him. Barack is aware of who he's dealing with but I still believe personally he will choose someone else. It is also interesting to note something about this unforeseen Hillary strategy, that by publicly leaking her interest in the V.P. position (for the sake of party unity, so she says), she has in effect, boxed in Obama's options which could force him to further alienate Hillary supporters should he refuse her V.P. appointment interest. Her V.P. position discussions should have remained private and between Obama & Hillary. The fact that this information has made its way into the public domain speaks volumes of the chilly nature this intended leak was to produce.

Geraldines sister said she would still not support it. I can see lanny Davis and the rest of the crew running all over the whitehouse, I could see Hillary and Bill feeding James Carville Information for Mary Matalin. There would be no loyalty...

Obama knows the most devastating ads the republicans could air would be Hillary's speeches about his inadequacies - with a simple voice-over "She said it first".
