There's a difference between "coddling," "begging," "ass-kissing" etc
and basic human decency.

Of course it is not reasonable (or right) to ask Obama supporters to not respond to attacks or smears on their candidate (and our (almost) presumptive nomine). But I don't think it's unreasonable to ask them to allow Clinton supporters a little space to grieve.

Obama has shown a wealth of grace and human decency, all the while fiercely competing for the nomination. Will you follow his lead?

Make of this message what you will, I'm just sayin'.

1. Please read my posts. I also believe there is a difference.
Under certain conditions, I am more than ready to move on.

2. Obama needs to rise above Hillary's bullshit. I don't.
A lot of us have swallowed the Clintons' crap for 16 years, and we're damn sick of it. I don't need to show basic human decency to someone who doesn't know the meaning of that phrase. Fuck them.

3. You're the only reason
that I regret having stayed away from this forum for a while.

4. Wow, thanks.
It's a sad comment on the GDP nightmare that I had to read your post a couple of times before I realized you were actually saying something nice. :hi:

5. In our system, the winners expect the losers to admit they lost and offer congratulations.
Do you think we're going to change that for a handful of pissy Hillary supporters who want their asses kissed? If one is an adult and rational, he or she won't vote for McCain and will support Obama. I ain't shining their shoes or getting them an English Muffin to get them to come around.

7. There is also a difference between grieving
and threatening to bolt the party, or demanding the VP slot for their candidate.

Just sayin'.

9. Could do without the high praise for Harriet Christian's views by her supporters.
Pretty disgusting to see the widespread endorsement of that ugliness here today.

But I am treading lightly. Let them spew. But don't tell me they are just here to "grieve" when they toss that warhead around.

10. This thread is turning out as expected
I am not a Hillary supporter, but I agree that a modest request for some Obama supporters not to be complete jerks to all Clinton supporters (all, not the 3-10 troublemaking jerk Clinton crazies) is not "holding you hostage for their vote" or "demanding ass kissing and begging".

I'm sure you guys who keep saying this can see the difference, and I think it helps nobody, especially Obama, to do this. This request has been made 10 times in the last week, and in every thread several people get offended and say the quoted phrases above.

At the very least PLEASE do not talk with this attitude to any undecided independents this fall, because you WILL drive votes away from Obama.

11. Yeah, I guess it's a good thing my internet connection went down
after I posted this, or I might have been depressed.

At this point, all I can say is, go for it, you putzes (not you, of course, I mean the replies up thread).

Fuck you, if your need to kick Clinton supporters when they're down causes us to lose the general.

I'm off to watch history being made, and wallow in hope.

14. I've been called a "cultist"..
... a "misogynist" and lots of other things, just for pointing out the obvious.

I cannot muster a single shred of sympathy for the handful of "she's gonna win, you wait and see" assholes I've been dealing with her for months.

Tough darts folks, sometimes fairy tales don't come true.

12. There is a HRC subforum where you can have all the space you want to grieve.
Here are some tissues that you can take with you

13. This nomination process..
... was over weeks ago. For those who are just now "grieving", I feel sorry for their basic lack of intelligence.
