Clinton Campaign Issues Statement That Downplays Veep Talk
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 04:10 PM by slinkerwink
Mark Halperin at Time's The Page reports:

Clinton Statement on VP Matter

Response to VP Inquiry

Today on a conference call with New York legislators, Senator Clinton was asked whether she was open to the idea of running as Vice-President and repeated what she has said before: she would do whatever she could to ensure that Democrats take the White House back and defeat John McCain.

2. it's her supporters that are pushing this
It's the bargaining phase before the acceptance phase. She knows she won't be accepted because of the vetting process, so calm down.

9. I think she would be better served in charge of health legislation
under an Obama administration.

5. You never post links. Why not start?
It's not that difficult, considering the mistakes you've made in the past on info like this.

7. I just heard
On Hardball, that some of her big supporters are putting it out as "he can't win without her", and that's just BS, and threats to get her the VP slot! He an win better without her than with her. Putting all this carp out today about when she will or won't concede, and now all the crap about VP, is taking the spotlight off Obamas night, and I think that stinks!

10. I heard it too. Like Hillary would be doing everyone a favor
by accepting the spot. What a fucking joke.

8. No surprise...they're going to try and clamp down expectations...
doubt it'll do much good, though.

15. Hillary won't endorse, won't concede tonight, but is open to being VP?
Not a great way to get on the short list!
