Poll question: Has this been the BEST or WORST Democratic Presidential Primary ever? |
|
In my lifetime it's the best by far. This horrible mess is a beautiful thing.

And they ended up in a virtual love fest running together.
A good harbinger?

9. Has to be the best in my lifetime and I've seen a lot of them. |
|
My primary vote actually meant something.
And it has made the DLCer's sit up and take notice of what this party is really about.
Time to take the Democratic Party back to populist, working people, social justice roots. Time to end Corporate Welfare and improve the social safety net for those who really need it.

Before I die, I'd like to participate in a smoothly run election. That seems to be a real challenge in our state.

I think it's the worst because I've become so emotionally invested in it and I rarely try to become invested in a campaign like this. Mainly because I feel that if I don't become so proactive that I could be setting our country up for annihilation----> McCain just scares me, literally this man terrifies me.
However it's the best because of the people who became motivated to do something. All the people ho went on to vote even if in some states they were told not too. That the youth finally tripled in voting, something that never happened during any other election. This is saying that we're tired and we want a change. This in no way promotes Obama, because it definitely organized women voters and it was a revolutionary period that we had two fantastic candidates in history one Black and the other Female.
Now if only Oprah had run..you know she'd be President right now. Anyway it's just amazing to see things like this and I loved it just for that. I hated the petty in-fighting, I hate a lot of the propaganda, but I loved the mobilization of our country. We've moved beyond, well at least a little, sex, religion, race, or creed. I commend the almost 45 million people (taking a few in recognition of Florida and Michigan) who voted and said, I'm going to say something and I vote for Democrat.
Just amazing.

17. I love it all. Even the in-fighting. |
|
Well, maybe especially the in-fighting.
And I bet the average Joes and Janes know who Barack and Hillary are, but don't really have a feel for that old guy who always looks so uncomfortable as he reads from teleprompters.

16. Worst. 2 good but flawed Democrats were destroyed by their |
|
own.
We had an unbelievable opportunity to have a real inter-party discussion about racism and sexism and instead we used both of these to destroy each other (and I don't just mean on DU). I've never been so disillusioned with being a member of the Democratic party.

It's been at the very least an education on aspects of how the party works. I had never heard of a SD.
Also, how a new fresh candidate can use the old rules in a new way (caucus states).

I think Hillary has ran a terrible campaign one of the worst, most mean-spirited, divisive primaries ever but at the end of the day it may not have hurt Obama. We shall see.

Citizens actually were very engaged in this primary more so than others (including myself). I think the rifts well be mended in the end and we will rally around our candidate. We've also brought many new voters into the fold. I expect an extremely high turnout in the GE.
