The one good thing that Bush deserves credit for: helping to bring about the election |
|
of the next Democratic President of the United States and, hopefully, the concomitant demise of the Republican Party as we know it.
Had Bush not decimated our country's once-vast stockpile of hope, had he not lied to us into an unwinnable war, had he not ignored the will of the people, had he not ignored the will of the Congress, had he not taken our trust and good faith and used them against us, had he not cared more about his cronies than he did about the good of the country, had he not trashed our civil liberties and laughed in our faces, had he not made a mockery of the Constitution and its intended spirit, had he not used his clout to turn every function of our government into another political dirty trick,
the next election would be a two-way race.
Thanks to George Bush, the only people of either party who want to continue his "legacy" are Jenna and Barbara (and I'm not so sure about Jenna).
Heckuva a job, George. It will take us years (maybe even decades) to un-do the harm you've done to this country and others. May you not have a good night's sleep until we do.

1. Well, I wouldn't thank him - but it's true that he was the catalyst we needed. |
