After shooting herself in both feet, Hillary cuts off her nose ... losing a chance to save face.
Edited on Tue Jun-03-08 05:02 PM by TahitiNut
In my entire life, I've never heard of any Presidential nominee, of EITHER party, who succumbed to a public threat in selecting a running mate. Indeed, Mrs. Clinton has scortched more earth and has left herself no opportunity to accept the following 'offer':
"I'll be willing to let you say that you turned down a chance to be Vice President, Hillary. I won't make that offer, but I won't publicly contradict you. After all, you can say you're dedicated to sserving the people of New York as their Senator."
It seems there's no question. She's inclined to do as much damage as she can ... in hopes for 2012. I don't see how she could have any other motive in trying to be invited to the prom.

Just as she expected when she made them after she knew she lost Super Tuesday.

7. That's just one more reason she'd be a disaster on the ticket.
McCain and the 427's would run ads that repeated what SHE said ... making a farce of the Democratic ticket.

(Clark still seems like the best choice.)

20. It's as close to a concession as we'll get tonight, though.
Saying, "Well, I'm interested in Veep" is the same thing in politics as saying "Wow, I really f'd that whole campaign up quite badly."

;-)

23. I hope she can step back a tad and allow him this moment in the sun.
He deserves to revel in this win. To wallow in it and order a Mai Tai.

I look at it this way. We have no control over her behavior, so I figure her chance to be VP is well into negative numbers now. That is the silver lining to this impediment that is trying to suck the life out of this election.

Barack did it. He effin did it. :D

"According to insiders," he's willing to offer it only if she refuses to take it. (Uh-huh. Lucy with the football. Watch out, Charlie Brown.) She REALLY doesn't want it.

Other message: "Don't you dare offer it to another woman." (Them's Hillary's entitlements.)

Insane.

32. And just what is her intent in being v.p.?
I mean really. Pure ambition. To secure ANOTHER eight years in the White House. Her first eight as v.p. weren't enough for? OH YES, there have been books written that say not only did she have more power than Al Gore in the White House and that she actively worked for money and votes that took away from GORE in 2000. She did nothing to help Kerry. She obviously actively hoped for his loss in 2004-I saw no screaming to count the votes from her or her "supporters" then.

And people wonder why we don't "like " her. Maybe she can cry her way to the veep spot. And certainly if she is vice president she gets to muse and hope for another 1968 or 1963. She has no reason to be v.p. but to hope for something to happen to Obama or to some how position herself for what- to be president when she's nearly 70? (That's right ladies and germs let's take the Clinton era into the next twenty years-the last twenty weren't enough)

Or maybe, finally Andrew Sullivan is correct-she is goddamn Dick Cheney in a pant suit. She wants to top from bottom.

33. Quote of the night for me (from a friend I'm IMing)
After she asked me what channel I was watching and I told her when each of them were expected to speak, she responded:

<20:47:10> … I'd like to see what Obama's saying. I'm not sure if I want to see Hillary or not.
<20:47:25> … Given that she induces cognitive indigestion.

Yeah, that's about it.
