Obama has run a MASTERFUL campaign
Say what you want about him, but he has run a perfect campaign.

He always stayed positive and did not sink to name calling or any other "kitchen sink" tactics.

He is on the way to raise a billion dollars at the rate he is going by November.

He has controlled the news( ie introducing John Edwards the day after Hillary's big win in West Virginia)

He even appears to close things after every state votes, winning with the votes cast in the final primary since enough Super Delegates have already endorsed him in the past week to get him in range.

And to think that the biggest "anti-Obama" meme during the primaries was "Inexperience". It looks like he really knows what he's doing.

Congrats to the Nominee and next President of the United States of America. You had my support, time and effort in the run up to Super Tuesday and I will soon be working hard for you in the General Election.

2. Why did he limp across the finish line then?
Don't get me wrong, I'm in the middle of my own, painful conversion into an Obama supporter, but let's not kid ourselves.

Obama and his campaign need to do a lot of work to broaden his appeal.

6. Hillary also run a tough campaign. She has a lot of supporters in this campaign.
As an Obama supporter I can see her support. I am not blind to it. I think the OP congratulating Obama for wrapping this thing up tonight.

18. Because he started out against a 40-point advantage, $50 million, and with no name recognition.
Not to mention the nostalgia of the Clinton era. His opponent had just about every advantage you could imagine, and he came back and won it decisively.

19. He won a string of caucuses, then Clinton won a string of primaries
That's the race, in a nutshell.

Obama has a powerful message, and an inspiring personal story.

But it's obvious that his appeal is limited. This problem is not insoluble, but it is real.

Nevermind. You're clearly attached to a narrative that completely ignores the groundbreaking the nature of the Obama campaign.

and then, the nation suffered for it.

Very. He was up against a pro with a lot of connections... he is very green in comparison. He did well, but I can think of a lot of mistakes he made that he can't afford to make in the GE.

33. A winning campaign is a masterful campaign,
and it's the first time in this country an African American or biracial candidate has reached the top of the ticket, overcoming lack of name recognition and a well-funded, well-known candidate. Give credit where credit is due, and let's get ready for the GE!

12. Far from perfect, I'd say...
But I'm betting he has learned a few things... I hope so anyway.

We were a lot easier on him than the GOP will be. They would flip his floppers over stuff like... "I could no sooner disown Reverend Wright than I could disown my own grandmother." Oooops... Guess Granny is under the bus now too.

Yes, I certainly hope he's learned a thing or six dozen.

32. How about welfare reform on companies?
I'm a free market guy by and large. I'm against all forms of welfare becuase I think they actually hurt those they intend to help. But if I had to decide I would say corporate welfare is evil while welfare to the poor is misguided. Corporations like Bear Sterns that are run by monkeys deserve to go under not given a hundred billion dollar get out of bankruptcy card.

More like the rich landowners subsidy bill.

28. Some advice from a libertarian
Just some advice for the Obama campaign not that they read this or would listen to me. The key to winning this election is the war. The focus above all else has to be stopping the war(s) and bringing ALL of the troops home from all countries. This is an economic issue as well as a moral issue. The main reason this economy is in trouble is becuase of the inflation due to the spending on the war and US empire. If he dedicates his first term to bringing home our troops and creating a real national defense (Not the all offense we have now) he will do two things. Rally the vast majority of Americans behind him and save the economy Trillions (with a T) of dollars a year. Now I'm a libertarian so I don't agree with a big welfare state. But if Obama can save a couple of Trillion a year by getting rid of the empire I don't most people will mind spending tens of Billions on getting poor people health care. Heck we would all be so much better off we wouldn't even notice.
