Breaking on Countdown: Hillary's top campaign strategists begged Senators to push Hillary out
Bombshell revelation. Howard Fineman reporting that 8 senators who were Hillary supporters were gathered by phone by Hillary's top campaign strategists to convince her to concede the nomination. Wow!

26. Don't shoot the messenger.
This is her doing.

Th press just reports how truly out of touch she is.

Her own staff wants her to exit with grace and class and yet it takes a forceful intervention to gring about what should be normal behavior.

81. Thank You!
I'm so sick of KO, Kos, Ed Schultz (OK I'll give them Randi) being vilified for reporting the news. Don't you think that any of the people mentioned in that report would be asking for a retraction if it wasn't true? It's over. I'm glad someone convinced her of that.

Like Rachael Maddow said though, I'll believe it when I hear it.

23 House members supporting Hillary told her campaign that she needed to release them from their support of her campaign because they didn't approve of her continuing without acknowledging Obama as the winner.

21. Plenty of bills get fewer than 8 senate votes or 23 house votes.
That was a landslide!

It looks like the GOP finally screwed up and landed themselves a dog of a candidate, and the dems had a hard time selecting among several good ones.

because of his slip-up about how Hillary would definitely concede once Obama crossed the finish line. I think he just assumed that to be the case and was shocked when it didn't happen.

Though in favor of your point of view, he did introduce her as the next President of the USA.

24. According to Andrea Mitchell
Charlie Rangel was pissed and many of her other supporters. He started the teleconference with her and just new york supporters. But it grew like wild fire and ended up being house members, senators and her top advisers.

Apparently Terry McCaulif announced her to the Rally last night as the "Next President" and that really pissed them off as well.

I don't have a link but this is what I can recall from Mitchell's report on MSNBC.

Hey maybe that's not such a bad idea!

54. Everybody knows she wouldn't have any money backing if she
did that. PACs don't care much for 3rd parties.

23 members of Congress, according to Olbermann.

And, that there was much anger and frustration on the Hill from her supporters who now wanted to give their support to Obama, but felt that they couldn't, because she hasn't released them.

Andrea Mitchell said that as of this morning, Hillary was NOT going to concede anything.

An intervention, indeed.

That's the second time I've seen someone quote him today as if he's speaking from the burning bush.

Come on, guys. Its Howard Fineman.

I think we had several threads on this trying to guess who would lead it.

Several people guessed Charlie but I thought it was going to be Schumber.

90. I thought her mother's birthday was tomorrow
either way, she's supposed to throw her a party, I think in DC. It was given as a reason from a Hillary surrogate as to why she wanted some time to decompress.

100. I could say I'm astounded but I'm not. It's really difficult to see this when I've held Hillary in
such high esteem for so many years. If she works hard for a Democratic win I think she can regain some of her status.
