I finally realized one reason why this latest Hillary stunt is not sitting right with me. |
|
It reminded me of Bush's claim to "having political capital and going to spend it". It seems as if her holding her voters/delegates hostage and not supporting Obama was very similar to that idiot's claim. It backfired when she found her capital was disappearing.

2. Um, it didn't disappear. It's called the popular vote. |
|
She had more ballots cast for her than he did. All he's got is the absurd delegate hoo-ha of this year. Which you know you wouldn't have if not for 1) Edwards and 2) your pathetic attempts to kill the votes in two states.
She was elected to the Senate twice, you know, and she was the only Democratic candidate other than him to stay afloat this long. That did happen. Her support did not come out of thin air.
Respect is a dead word here, though, so forget it if I expected you to know that.
I repeat: the runner-up candidate quite often does get the VP nod. That's how many others have done it.
Why on Earth wouldn't she at least hope to have a chance to be VP? It makes sense and you know it.
It's called building a coalition.
Then again, DU Obama people hate Clinton so much, they don't want the woman to continue breathing air, for pity's sake.
It's a party, not a cult. Try to remember that.

She didn't get more votes than he did, unless you live in a country with 46 states. She lost. Period. Estimate w/IA, NV, ME, WA* 18,107,710 48.1% 18,046,007 47.9% Obama +61,703 +0.2% http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/democratic_vote_count.html

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/democratic_vote_count.htmlYes, it is a lie. We have more than 46 states. She lost. Anyone who says she got more votes is a disruptor looking for trouble.

12. Time for you to stop being a pain in the ass and move on. |
|
And, get your facts straight. Hillary did not win the popular. Also, "the absurd delegate hoo-ha of this year," is what Hillary needed, and did not get, to win. Period.
We don't hate Hillary, we hate what she turned into during her camp pain.
You sound you have an over-abundance of hate, sour grapes or whatever you want to call it.

|
I mean really. I am so sick of it. Hillary got more popular votes toward the end because OBAMA HAD ALREADY WON it was all over but the crying. So he focused on critically important states for not only primary but the general.
You crack me up. You just can't admit they ALL AGREED TO THE SAME DAMN RULES!!!
your ass is gone in a week based on your stupid tone.
you're the one drinking the koolaid and sacrificing yourself for your cult leader, HillBill.

4. I think you're got something there. |
|
It struck me the same way; put me in mind of Bush saying he'd been given a "mandate" by those supporters who'd voted for him.
How truly sad, though. Hill had one last hand to play last night, and she chose to hold 'em when she should have folded.

21. The issue of discussion was suspending a campaign.... |
|
Edwards also suspended his campaign...Hillary has suspended her campaign.....this is the same process.
Edwards did not endorse Obama until 3 months after he suspended his campaign by the way....

22. I don't see any mention of suspending campaigns in the OP or in the post I replied to... |
|
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 12:55 PM by cui bono
but I did think that Edwards had dropped out. He suspended?
And I'm aware of when Edwards endorsed. I didn't understand how he could hold out for so long after so many statements he had made made it clear who he leaned towards, but the timing ended up working out rather well.
So it's not the same situation, as Edwards didn't give a stump speech the night his rival became the presumptive nominee, which is the "stunt" the OP mentioned and was the issue of the discussion.

13. It's even worse than that... |
|
She may have gotten almost 18 million votes, but that never meant that she has 18 million voters for the general election.
Most people automatically go with the nominee. That takes care of most of her 18 million votes right there. And she has no control over the voters anyway.
