Poll question: Will Obama pull a Reagan?
In the 1984 Reagan won 49 out of 50 states. Can Obama win so many states? I think he can.

Chuck Todd said this morning that if it's close, McCain wins.
If it's not close, Obama gets at least 350 electoral votes.

I don't think it's going to be close, personally. :-)

16. I just do not see it.
I do not see how Obama wins Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.

The best case scenario for Obama is probably winning 428 electoral votes.

That would require him winning all of Kerry's states and the following Republican-leaning ones: Montana, North Dakota, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, Alaska, Iowa, MO, Arkansas, LA, Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Indiana.

Mondale held Minnesota because it was his home state. I'm not so sure Grandpa McLoon will be able to do the same in Arizona. Those people know him better than anyone, and they know he's too psycho to be President.

14. I know you didn't catch the irony, but he did express admiration for Reagan.
There was a whole school of thought called Reagan Democrats. It's probably how Reagan got in, in the first place.

I don't expect you to do anything about the Yellow Dog Democrats in Congress. Nor do I expect you to be honest about how much of your support comes from the conservative Midwest, where literally millions of voters took advantage of open primaries to switch sides. Not because they love Obama, but because they'd do anything to scuttle Clinton.

If you don't know that, your head is not just in the sand. It's somewhere even worse.

29. Not quite.
The Republcans who switched sides were voting for Sen Clinton. They wanted her to win because sho would have been easier to beat in November.

17. West Virginia is probably a lost cause. But we are looking at a potential 40-state landslide.
Maybe Obama can pick up some of these states as well:

Utah
Wyoming
Kentucky
Arkansas
Alabama
Kentucky
Oklahoma
West Virginia
Texas
Florida

Republicans don't abandon their party quite as casually as Democrats. And there is the racial factor in play this time.

24. honestly with racism still so pervassive in the south, no.
but Obama will take a lot more states than the MSM is predicting. CNN loves their stupid touch-and-move television, I am ready to gag when they go to it. Obama will take NC, SC, GA, Kansas and has a very decent shot at Texas.
He will certainly lose AZ, KY, TN, UT, AL, and OK.

25. I'm just marveling that California only has 47. We have 55 now.
It must have been like a ghost town back in 1984, tumbleweeds blowing in the wind, rattlesnakes basking in the sun, the sounds of spurs hitting the wood planked sidewalks...

I was just 9 when this national nightmare took place.
