Obama didn't win the Democratic Presidential nomination because he's black
and Hillary Clinton didn't lose the nomination because she's female. Nor did Obama manipulate state rules to beat the Clintons.

I think it's best to confront and debunk these claims head on if we are going to have party unity. Coming to terms with these facts will be necessary for Clinton supporters to move forward and support our Democratic nominee, Barack Obama. My hope is that those Clinton supporters who have been lead to believe such claims can come back to the reality-based community in time to join us in defeating McCain.

1. After being touted as the "best political mind" of his generation,
Bill is REALLY loathe to admit that this young Obama guy
RAN A SUPERIOR CAMPAIGN.

Wake up, Bill -- it's the 21st century, not the 20th.
Obama also won because he had the "vision thing" down
(whereas your wife didn't really know where she wanted
to take the country). You remember that "vision thing",
Bill -- it was what tripped up Poppy Bush in '92 ...

4. I think Obama really threw them for a loop
And I agree, Bill and Hillary and their supporters are REALLY loathe to admit that this young Obama guy
RAN A SUPERIOR CAMPAIGN.

2. It would help oodles if Clinton supporters would admit as much. But I'm not holding my breath.

3. I am always shocked at some of the claims made
and I know that internet discussion boards can really feed the flames of conspiracies, prejudices and paranoia -- we see it here at DU everyday. In fact, there are many things that I will probably believe about Bush & Co. that history could prove wrong that I will likely never not believe. :silly: When something is deeply ingrained in one's perception, it is difficult to change. It appears some HRC supporters will never come back. Others will be reasonable enough to understand that the false claims made to encourage their dislike of Obama are just that, false. I hope, anyway.
