The Perfect VP for Obama

1. Brings gravitas to the ticket
2. Does not overshadow Obama
3. Brings strong international recognition which he needs
4. Helps with women, esp. older women

In sum, she brings what Cheney brought to W, a sage advisor that an inexperienced president needs. However, unlike Cheney, she's not pure evil. She's just the opposite.

Obama / Albright

4. Albright not born in the US.
Thus, she could not become president in the event that something happened. Since that's part of the job, she can't be considered.

9. I've been thinking Helen Thomas.
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 10:18 PM by TahitiNut
She's only 87 (88 at the Convention), so she's both experienced and has gravitas. She was born in Kentucky ... so we'd get THEIR vote. She was raised in Detroit ... so it helps compensate for the FUBAR. She's spent far more time in the White House than Hillary - with an actual job to do. All in all ... a very good choice, imho.

13. I'd even prefer HRC on the ticket to Albright! I say Barbara Boxer, maybe Stabenow or Sebelius, or,
if it were a male (less preferable both in principle and as realpolitik) then possibly Bob Graham of FL or Brian Schweitzer of MT. I haven't deeply researched this, so I'm not in the same position as those who have.
