WASHINGTON — Get ready for a special guest star in the Republican campaign against Democrat Barack Obama: Hillary Clinton.

Months of bare-knuckled campaign fights, pitched rhetoric and debate jousting produced a treasure chest of sound bites and videos of Clinton ripping Obama as inexperienced, elitist or simply wrong on various issues.

Now that the Democratic primaries are over and Obama has clinched his party's nomination, the Republicans are ready to pounce.

The Republican National Committee on Wednesday rolled out new ads quoting Clinton criticizing Obama, the first of what likely will be many such ads.

2. Sometimes those "pretty speeches" mean something
Lincoln for one, then Kennedy and many others. Sometimes they come from a thinking brain!? What a thought! No one can accuse McCain of pretty speeches - or even coherent speeches, ha...

4. And if she'd have won, the repukes would use Obama's attacks on her in their ads.
Oh, she's bush/cheney lite.

Oh, she's not being straight with the American people.

She's dishonest and untrustworthy.

have some integrity

5. Like that one time when he said that McCain would be a better president than Hillary?
What a dick move THAT was. He really should be ashamed of himself, potentially giving the GOP ammo like that.

8. Did Obama actually say those things about her? That she's dishonest and untrustworthy?
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 11:10 PM by KaryninMiami
That she is Bush/Cheney lite? I have no memory of him saying things like that about her- it's possible I suppose, but I listened pretty carefully to the things he said of her and - my apology if I am wrong here-- and if so, please do send me the links, ok?

Obama supporters may have indeed said those things but Obama himself? Really?

12. Oh yeah poor Obama, he NEVER criticized Hillary.
The Bush lite remarks were so heartwarming, along with "periodically" she gets upset or this little nugget: "the claws come out". Not to say the times he called her untrustworthy.

19. She just stated a fact.
McCain and she have experience and Obama does not. Yeah, yeah, he was in the state senate and was a community activist. Not bad, but not a presidential resume.

20. He bashed the Clinton administration various times.
The most successful administration in decades, but the fact that it was also a Democratic administration didn't seem to matter to him.

21. I don't think that it'll happen anytime soon.
I have never felt as much dislike and disdain for a Democratic candidate. Why? Because he's the most inexperienced candidate in modern times and I do not think he's fit to be president at this point in time. The LF wing of the party held him aloft as a way of getting rid of the Clintons (Kennedy, Kerry, et al). He has barely limped to the nomination thanks to the SD, even as he clinched the brass ring he lost most primaries since Feb. and by a large margin in all of them except for IN. I think that Obama will probably end up being another Carter.

18. Those ads aren't going to be effective. We've already seen all that crap. Everyone's already
made their mind up about Obama and he has enough supporters to win now. They can't shut him up... he'll demonstrate that he's the grown-up and McSame is an unpredictable loose cannon.

26. I think it's all weak tea.
It's Obama vs. McCain. I just don't think this year is setup as a fair fight. No one cares what Hillary had to say during the primary fight. McCain will be trashed and kicked down the sidewalk for the next 5 months. No ad with a few Hillary quotes is going to change that.
