3. Clark would certainly neutralize McInsane
I guess above some of the rest, Nunn, Graham, I would rather see Wes as #2. I campaigned for Clark in 2003/4, but some of the stuff that has come to light since he endorsed HRC has me questioning whether he is a true outsider and a change agent.

10. I doubt Edwards would accept ....
Clark, as has been proven before time and time again, promotes more Liberal ideas than many detractors here claim .... He has a significant following here and elsewhere, and would appeal to those who want a more imposing defense-minded figure in an Obama administration ....

Veeps should compliment nominees, not emulate them ....

11. Agree.
Clark is at once totally progressive on the issues and at the same time accepted as a mid-western style strong-on-defense one-of-them common folk.

12. No. Clark totally fucked up his '04 bid. After his "Mary, Help!" moment,
I decided that I could not/would not support any attempt to stick Wesley Clark within 500 meters of a Presidential ticket. The idiot didn't even bother to learn what his positions were before he let his staffers trot him out in front of the press.

15. obama said...
And that means having people of the greatest excellence and competence. It means people with integrity. It means people with independence, who are willing to say no to me so, so that, you know, no more yes-men or women in the White House.

im just sayin. i think hes gonna have some unorthodox picks. if he loses the crazies that are gonna go from clinton to mccain, or stay home, hes gonna probably try and pull from mccains potential pool.

17. I agree. But I think Hagel could serve well in an Obama administration.
But VP? Nope.

18. Like the MSM, (eg CNN.com's on potential VPs) there's MUCH pushing for a VP as FAR RIGHT as can be
While on the other hand, Boxer (who isn't to the LEFT of Obama, in any significant way) is said to skew the ticket too far left, by some.

Electorally, it's best to pick someone who is VERY appealing, as long as they aren't out of the mainstream. CA Sen Boxer would help with a number of demographics, and might help carry FL in particular.

Are MANY voters really likely to gravitate to Obama b/c of Clark, who wouldn't otherwise vote for him? For suburban women and older folk, Boxer, for FL, possibly Bob Graham, MI Sen Stabenow might win over the proverbial white working class, and ALL THESE VOTED NO ON THE IRAQ WAR RESOLUTION, back in 2002 when the war was a popular policy.
