It looks like my 1 hour of overtime pay will be going to Hillary Clinton
The only donations I have made this year is to my local church www.stmarys.org and to Barack Obama prior to the PA primary.

I gave Obama $17.76 back before the primary. I hope my overtime pay does not go into a multimillionaire's backpocket. But I gave it to Obama and it he can do with it what he likes.

1. He can't use his money for that
He can't actually pay off her debts, it's against the law. The best he can do is fundraise for her or ask his donors to give her money to retire her debt.

3. He keeps asking, and I keep giving, but...
that's one call for funds I'll have to ignore.

4. really? for true?
I thought that he could donate some money to her. I hope he can't.
I think there are enough Hillary supporters that are rich enough to foot the bill.

It would be awful for Obama to ask us to help Hillary pay down her debt (what about my /our debt? ) Worse, what if Obama asked his supporters to help her out, and no one took him up on it?

8. The finance law says he can contribute $2,000 from his campaign
He might hold fund raisers for her, but he can't take your $17.76 and hand it off to Clinton.

2. She should pay off her own debt. The Clintons have made millions
selling out this country. You don't get paid 800k for a speech, it's a public form of bribery. Plus, the Clintons ran up the debt running around the country poisoning the well for Obama (e.g., telling working class whites that Obama was an elitist who thinks he's better than them) so they should pay off their own debt.

11. Her Crew wasted a lot of $$$$
At one place $4,000.00 for donuts.
She and her husband (Monika's ex-boyfriend) can pay it out of their pocket change.

5. No it won't. He's not allowed to use his funds like that.
He can only appear at fundraisers for her or ask his supporters to donate to her.

7. he can't, and will not use the money donated to him for that
he will probably do something like attend some fundraiser. the Clintons themselves could probably easily do that by holding fundraisers around the country.

9. I'll be disappointed in him if he uses his supporters money...
Instead, he do a fundraiser for that purpose, as has been suggested here at DU, but imo the Clintons should pay it off themselves ~ they're sitting on a pile of money and can always make more.

12. The title of that article is misleading
"Obama, 46, an Illinois senator, is barred by federal law from using his own treasury to pay off Clinton's debts. He could host a fundraiser for the New York senator or ask some of his 1.5 million donors to help her out."

tell their stories about how they provided flowers, food, phone service, hotel rooms..you name it.. and then people could call in pledges..

I would like to see Bill & Hill at the END of the list for re-payment..
