Apparently it would be an insult to Hillary?

I don't get why women would feel like this. It only makes a female on the ticket a truly impossible dream.

2. You know, I keep hearing this little meme
but I haven't heard or seen a single major media source to verify it. Nothing on MSNBC.com, nothing on CNN.com. That's very odd, for such a pervasive and widespread piece of information, isn't it?

4. It was repeated by pundits on MSNBC numerous times.

I'm pretty sure Joan Walsh keeps saying it.

14. It was reported on Keith's show on Tuesday night by Howard Fineman.
I don't know if Keith has transcripts.

3. Yes it might be an insult to Hillary, but what other women have
been running for the office? Do you have anybody in mind?

6. I don't know the Governors very well...
but..."The Associated Press notes "increasing chatter surrounding two rising Democratic stars" ---- Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D) and Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano (D), "two potential running mates who could help Barack Obama woo female voters."

18. Janet Napolitano is Gov of AZ
Bet she has the goods on Old McShame Knows where the bodies (as they say) are. I hope Hillary does not run aa VP. I like her too much. She can do more in the senate.

Although it does make it easier for Obama to select a male running mate if that is his choice.

10. I think this request, if true, is the most sexist thing all year
The second most sexist was HRC's comment in the NH debate that electing her would be change just because she was a woman was second. The implication is troubling as it suggests that a woman's policy would by definition be differnt than a man's. Looking at the Senate women vs men, this does not appear to be true.

I don't think "feminists" feel this. I think ardent HRC people feel this and it is NOT because they want a male candidate - they are holding out for HRC.

11. Anti Clinton gossip from a talking head..Imagine that!
Why is every unattributed, nasty, anti Hillary bit of gossip celebrated here by so many as if it were the gospel truth? Imagine if we treated all our Democrats like this.

12. Those that say it would be an insult to hillary prove that they
are not about the equal rights for all or concerned about the party - they only care about hillary.

Maybe they should go off and form a new party, then the fanatics would learn that it being about hillary won't get them any where.

15. I think it is bullshit, in more ways than one
I don't see how it is an insult to Clinton, particularly, anymore than not asking her at all is (she might find that insulting, but thems the breaks).

I also don't believe that this is a widespread feeling.

21. It IS an insult to Hillary,
who has worked very hard this campaign season. You may not like her personally, but I would see a choice of another woman (who hasn't campaigned and gotten as much popular support vote as Obama) as a deliberate slap in the face. It would definitely make me think twice.

22. it depends
If he is choosing a woman for the ticket because he feels she is the best for the job then that is awesome.

If he is trying to throw a bone to women voters as a cheap and quick way to shut them up then I think many would find that offensive.

If tables were turned and Hillary chose a black candidate other than Obama it would just seem wrong....kind of like when people try to replace someone's beloved pet that has died with a new puppy.

I have no strong feelings either way.
