Obama and lobbyists, what's the real deal?
Obama supporter here but I want to get talking points stright. Has Obama or Does Obama take(n) money from lobbyists, interest groups, or corporations? If so how is it different since he is against such donations?

**These questions are not meant to be an attack on Obama, this is to get talking points right.**

2. No, define "interest group," no.

He does, of course, accept money from people who work at corporations, because you can hardly run a campaign based only on donations from the unemployed.

He doesn't accept money from PACs, either.

7. Corporations can form PACs to funnel money to candidates. Obama does not accept
money from PACs.

Donating money in the name of your employees, without their knowledge or consent, is not legal.

5. No unless you consider people like me lobbyists simply because
we work for a certain industry and our donations are categorized by industry and employer.

11. NYT: DNC fundraiser headlined by BHO accepted Fed lobbyist $; DNC bans them going fwd.

At http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/05/obama-camp-sets-new-money-guidelines/">LINK:

The announcement comes the morning after Mr. Obama helped raise about $2.5 million for the D.N.C. at a Manhattan fund-raiser. Aides said the rules would take effect going forward, but would not be retroactive. . (Translation: Last night’s haul likely included money from federal lobbyists or PACs.)

I think it would have been better to start off the first major fundraiser as the nominee without Fed lobbyist money, not after the fact.
