6. Hey... it was that picture, too!
That's the picture I was looking at.

Oh - and I don't suspect "Obama" is hard for a baby to say, really. She says baba and mama.

12. My son is almost 3, and he watched in awe on Tuesday night
I was a proud poppa in every respect and equally proud of my nation & my candidate.

My son asked questions like "what is he doing?", "who is he?" among others and I explained in as plain terms as I could muster what was going on but tried to give him a sense of how momentous this is and how important it is. He went with me in the primaries to vote and still remembers it to this day, pointing out our polling place and saying "I voted for 'bama"

We live in the one oasis of liberal ground (North Knoxville) in an otherwise red sea of ignorance around here.

18. Tri-Cities here
It's getting better though, not nearly as many flagrant conservatives nowadays and some very good, sustainable growth in the liberal grassroots. I honestly feel that we can make a run in this state this year, the numbers here in my red area gives me a lot of reason to think so. Obama is nearly 40% in some of the local polling and that's almost unheard of in this area!

28. I wanna call him "Bama" sometimes
but catch myself. Kinda like when Obama calls women "Sweetie". Just a small term of endearment.

Lest anyone thinks I have a crush..it's more like a crush on Democracy and Obama represents that quite well to me.

O-Ba-Ma most days. The other day he was milling about the house singing BINGO, and towards the end I guess he lost track what song he was singing, because I hear... "Bingo was his YES WE CAN"

36. You're welcome to babysit, LOL.
They're used to watching news, Obama rallies, and can recite all the catchy phrases from Olberman's show... including classics like, Bushed, AHH, WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD, & the NBC call letters sung in tune.

30. I have 9-year-old son from my first marriage.
His father is Arabic and shares Barak's middle name (in Arab countries, the children, boys and girls, are given their father's name for a middle name); therefore, my son thinks it's cool that we might have a president with the middle name Hussein.

In any case, I think that pronouncing Obama's name is fairly easy for my blended household (my son is half Palestinian and my daughter is half Jewish. How 'bout them apples? :) )

23. I just want to say this is the key. We have to organize and have Obama's back in presidency for our
future. When he's there, he's going to be stonewalled. We the people have to stand up. And when he strays, which he will, we have to be able to bring him back in line nad remember us. We have to keep at him.

I'm not sure if many ofyou are aware. But The Nation writers along with Danny Glover created a site called http://progressivesforobama.blogspot.com/. We have to keep this highlighted. So our future and our kids future can have a chance. We need him in for this nation.

39. It's about normal.
They say "words" this early, but usually only their parents understand what they're saying.

But, she has been saying "da da, ba ba and ma ma" for awhile, so it's not that far of a stretch for her to piece together "Obama."
