BREAKING-via statement just put out-Hillary says she's not SEEKING the vice presidency...

which to ME means she WANTS it but wants to go about it as not being pushy. :eyes:

I heard it on MSNBC via press release from her campaign.

1. i think not.
I think she and Bill had a heart - - no, that's not possible. . . a head to head confrontation, when the Obama camp suggested that every candidate and their spouse would be fully vetted. His library and his foreign income look just plain screwy and would completely destroy their reps forever.

5. I hope you're right. I know Bill wouldn't disclose his donor list, so maybe she did this
to make it look like if/when she doesn't get it, no biggie. She didn't want it anyway. (I forgot about the donor list. Thanks).

Bottom line for me is, I am at the point that I would gladly donate to her debts fund, give her a fund raiser if she would just go on a long vacation in Puerto Rico until January 21st.

She is, it seems from all reports, but it's backfiring and she feels this need to back off.

Which would open up the whole issue of whether their marriage is anything more than a political convenience, and what she owes to whom...

108. The bigger question is, "Can you imagine Hillary divorced?"
Clinton insiders have long said that they really don't like each other much, but they have a political partnership.

Hillary has been much closer to the political model of George Wallace's wife, rather than an independent woman, e.g., Barbara Boxer, Diane Fienstein, or Barbara Milkulski.

There have been a steady parade of politicians from Ed Randell to Charlie Rangle all over tv who have been saying you don't lobby, or threaten, or bargain or whatever with the nominee for VP. You quietly sit and hope you will be honored to be offered it. I kept thinking to myself for a couple days: this darlin' is waaaay over playing her hand. Amazing that she would be that dumb about the way politics work!!!

71. How is it that Bill can't be vetted if she's VP but
her running for Pres was all fine and Dandy? Were they going to Lock up records like Bush?

So much for a Transparent Hillary Presidency, eh?

75. Good question...
I thought they said they WOULD release them "upon becoming the nominee" but then I heard he said he woudn't since he promised his donors they'd remain anonymous. They're just like the Bush admin.

80. Too bad the media can't ask these questions..
but we're all more interested in what Hillary is doing despite there being more intense history being made.. Though its hard to decide who's had it rougher, women or black people..

A question like that might get Buchanan passing the giant turd he always seems to be working on.. :)

Guess we'll find out this weekend.

79. I don't think she's ready to stop being crass and vile yet...
not even this weekend. She's going to keep her delegates. (Are they allowed to leave her for Obama?)

87. I agree - she's already proven to have no code of ethics or honor whatsoever.
I thought Hillary said delegates - including the pledged delegates - could vote for whomever they pleased? If so, her pledged delegates should "unselect" her as their nominee!

90. Exactly...
A couple pledged delegates DID switch to Obama a week or so ago, I thought. Nothing's stopping more of them from doing the same. That would be the BEST.

I just wish Obama would make his choice soon so Hillary's crazy supporters can get used to the idea.

85. We didn't vote for a dummy! :)
But, from what he's said in the last couple of days, I think he'll take a lot of time and do a very thorough job in this selection ~ he told Brian Williams that it's the most important decision he'll make before the inauguration, and it will signal how he will run his presidency. He also said in an interview on the plane that we won't hear about it from the press or from surrogates, but from him.

and I saw his statements on picking his VP. I love how he set the rules. HE will announce his choice when he's ready. Nobody else will do so.
