DO NOT BLAME Hillary For the RNC's latest Ad!
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 03:53 PM by berni_mccoy
I believe I am accurate when I say that Obama would wholeheartedly not blame Clinton for the RNC's latest attack ad. Sure her statements hurt, but Obama has ALREADY defended against this attack, and it was one of Clinton's most mild attacks, defeated early on in the primary.

What this Ad is designed to do is to keep us divided. That is all. They are seeking to strike in a time of weakness to reaffirm a point that Clinton supporters have had all along and to anger Obama supporters against Clinton.

The time for blaming Clinton for any of Obama's issues is over. I say this as one of the most aggressive and vocal Obama defenders on this board. Don't take the bait. Obama will respond and destroy the attacks made by this Ad. Look toward Unity and solidifying the party.

The Republicans are far more divided this year than we believe we are. Our wounds will heal. Theirs are just about to be exposed.

That is all.

On edit: here's the link to the Ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2DECDKOFnw

It is a very weak argument and this ad is meant more to divide us than it is to portray Obama as inexperienced.

1. What's done is done, and what matters most is about how we react to those Republicans
I don't care anymore about prior political attacks being used in RNC ads.

23. As long as we have to deal with Hillary's treason, I'm going to criticize her for it....

I hope this ad gets run in NY 24/7. I'm sure the good citizens of NY can find a legitimate reason to remove her from office.

32. Hillary's lucky that Obama didn't make a big deal of her bigot-pandering....
Hillary did enough to insult African-Americans that it may negatively impact the Democratic Party for years. Obama, by taking the high road, limited the damage.

I would imagine that New Yorkers could easily find a legitimate reason to remove her from office. That would free up the Democratic Party from the burden of having a bigot-pandering traitor as a Senator.

25. ITA. We will deal with the repercussions of Hillary's Bush/Rove tactics for months....
and I will continue to criticize her during that time.

She needs to be permanently removed from the political scene.

33. The argument is true. She said, and they used it. I predicted this would happen over two .........
months ago and Hillary supporters laughed at me. If Obama loses this election to low information voters who believe this crap, like Kerry did by being swiftboat believers, the Clintons' will have lost all credibility.

Nobody forgot the swfitboaters for costing Kerry the election, and no one will forget Hillary if she costs Obama the election.

Besides, they also quote Bill and Edwards.

Last night some program showed a clip of Carter saying that Obama was still too inexperienced. I'm not sure if the interview was from last year.

16. WORDS MATTER
She knew it..He knew it.. Everyone knew it BEFORE a single campaign event happened.

He held to his promise..she did not..

So, while "blame" may not be the operative word, there are plenty of instances when she (and her staffers) could have taken the high road..and didn't..

This is not the "olden days", when a candidate could "pop-off" in some little podunk town, and only those people would ever know what they said.. This is the time where EVERY WORD..EVERY GRIMACE..EVERY WINK-WINK-NOD-NOD is recorded and dumped onto the web..

I know she will never apologize, but I hope she thinks about some of the things that were said , and feels a little pang of karma..:)

18. The Republicans were going to use this line of attack anyway
and my guess is that it must make the far right's head explode to even consider that they might agree with Hillary- whose been the object of their derision for 15 years now!

LOL.

Bottom line- it's not an effective ad.

21. As a sidenote: Why do Republicans ONLY call the President "Commander-in-Chief"?
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 04:09 PM by calmblueocean
I'm serious.

Whenever Republicans starting talking about the race for the highest office, the word "president" drops out of their conversation, and you start hearing them say "commander-in-chief-commander-in-chief-commander-in-chief" like a mantra.

Watch for it next time. It's creepy!
