I'm done fighting. Time to heal.
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 03:56 PM by Elrond Hubbard
Senator Clinton is likely to concede on Saturday.
I'm not out to burn bridges, I want to bridge gaps.
I'm not going to attack Clinton anymore, but I WILL take on any Clinton supporter that's being a sore loser or, more importantly, any Obama supporter that is being a sore winner.
Part of celebrating is NOT rubbing the other team's face in the dirt...it's dusting them off, saying 'good game' and knocking back some brews.
So what if we've had our disagreements?
I think that now is the time to wipe the slate clean, start anew, and look towards tomorrow.
Not the first time I've said this obviously, but I still see a lot of nastiness.
I see a lot of good, positive, and warm posts, too.
I think our chances in November are excellent. I think on DU, and across America, we will unite to put an end to the Reagan Revolution once and for all.

edit: wow! :)

3. I'm BEYOND excited seeing the threads from Hillary supporters who are joining us.
In fact, it's the single coolest thing I've seen in my 7.5 years at DU. I'd hug every one of y'all if I could!

5. I agree...and equally awesome is that the vast majority of Obama supporters who post there...
do so with open arms and open minds.

13. last thing I saw in the CNN website is that she's NOT going to concede
but rather "suspend" her campaign and refuse to release her delegates.

I was kind of surprised to see that:

http://caffertyfile.blogs.cnn.com/2008/06/05/how-is-clinton-handling-her-exit/

Hillary Clinton is offering Barack Obama half a loaf on her way out the door. No joint appearance with the presumptive nominee and their families in prime time – which would be carried live on television. No appearances by folks like Harold Ickes and Terry McAuliffe who ran her campaign telling her supporters to unite behind Obama. No appearance by Bill saying “let bygones be bygones, and I’m going to offer to work hard to get Barack Obama elected.”

Instead Senator Clinton is planning a public appearance on Saturday to talk about how “we can rally the party behind Senator Obama. The stakes are too high and the task before us too important to do otherwise.”

Meanwhile, it turns out Clinton had to be pushed to get out of the race by several of her Democratic congressional colleagues… and reportedly she didn’t even bother to call Obama to tell him of her decision. One more thing, and it’s important: Clinton is expected to suspend her campaign instead of dropping out altogether. That means she will technically remain a candidate, and she will hold on to her delegates.

Some Obama supporters worry that questions about what Clinton does next will turn into a “second campaign” that won’t end until Obama chooses a running mate, a job that Clinton is apparently interested in even though no one has asked her.

18. He doesn't need her delegates, that's the beauty of it.
Clinton can suspend until the cows come home but the party will choose Obama as our nominee.

24. Does this mean that Obama supporters will actually begin to...
...'support' Obama?

Spewing nagative vitriol doesn't support anything except future visits to a shrink.

I will believe it when I see it, and today, the venom is still flowing, so I dont believe it yet.
