Man oh man! Talk about turning on a dime .............. !
The most vocal and out front of Clinton's supporters and surrogates have made a pretty neck snapping U-turn in the last 24 hours or so.

McAullife has maneuvered his candidate to be a shipwreck washed up on the rocks. They are completely alone.

Ed Rendell ..... Charlie Rangel ...... wow.

Wow.

Politics ain't fer softies.

35. Yep...
And she will always have a lot of pull in US politics. Obama is wise in keeping on her good side... which is probably one thing that will drive his supporters here to distraction! Oh well. Good thing he knows a hell of a lot better.

14. You missed the point ........
Her supporters stayed loyal so long as there was even a hint of a chance. It was over on Tuesday, when she SHOULD have conceded. Instead, that used car salesman, McAuliffe, introduced her as 'the next president' and she refused to concede or even acknowledge. At that point, pretty much in a heartbeat, her supporters smacked her and told her to get in line.

As to where I "expect Democrats to go" ............. what's that supposed to mean?

21. GODDAMMIT HUBS
Stop putting me on a level with that crazed scumbag McAuliffe! :grr:

I no longer sell cars but I did so with integrity. The only thing I lied about was price, and that was only because customers lied about price and I had to do so to eat!

There are shady politicians and shady car salespeople, but that doesn't make them all shady!

Pfah!

That said I agree with the rest of your statement :P

met the delegate requirement, we ALL have to come home if we are going to win in November. It's as simple as that!

ETA: It's not about disloyalty - it's about UNITY! As a party, we are stronger together than apart!

For all the seeming recalcitrance from her side, turns out only McAuliffe is a through and through asshole.

23. It was a hard fought battle for the nomination and
Sen. Clinton and McAuliffe will come around in their own time - but I know and most of Hillary's supporters know that we can't afford to wait around for that to happen.

When Sen. Clinton is ready to rejoin the "Land of the NOW", I and many other Democrats will be there to welcome her back with open arms - not bash her over the head with taunts and curses.

Attitudes like that are why this country is so fucked - short-sighted citizens just let liars and criminals keep getting away with it.

But, I will welcome her back to the here and now.

If we kicked out of the Democratic Party EVERYBODY who made a mistake or exercised bad/faulty judgement, even several times, there wouldn't be any body in the Democratic Party.

Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 04:35 PM by kenny blankenship
Observing the same sad and sickening show the rest of us have. Now she has disappeared into the plumbing for good and all that's left is her quacking squawks echoing up through the pipes. There's nothing left to observe - no more support to give.

That's no U-turn. They have to move on like everyone else did. Weeks ago.

18. I thought that was what good Democrats did once we had a nominee.
Way to unite!! Clinton supporters can't do anything right even when they do something right? Oh...Now I get it. When is everyone going to stop bashing Clinton and start bashing McCain? It has been two days and I still don't see many positive threads on Obama and I still see very few on McCain. Shouldn't we let go of this and move on?

look at some of the responses that you got. It just gave them another opportunity to knock her. But I guess they really don't need any prompting to do that. I'm sorry if I misunderstood you. I just hate Dem bashing. That is what has disgusted me about DU over the primary season. It was horrible to watch us eating our own like a bunch of hyenas. I did not even choose sides in this fight and it was very difficult to watch from the sidelines. I couldn't wait until it was over. But, judging by the anti Clinton posts still occurring it is not even close to being over.

Some people are incapable of turning on dimes ...... or even silver dollars. And some are incapable of ever turning.

Those kinds of people are called 'not smart'.

I only recently decided to support Obama (the day, or was it the day afer, Ted Kennedy's cancer diagnosis was made public). And admittedly, my support is as much pro forma as anything ..... but ...... yeah, the Dem bashing really pisses me off. We agree on that, I'm sure.

22. The turn seems quick, but it reminds me
of a scene from the movie Fletch where Fletch pretends he knows a woman whose husband died and Fletch says it was such a shame it was so sudden, and the response from the person he is trying to fake out is that he had been dying for months, and then Fletch says yes, but at the very end it was so sudden...

33. It's actually not surprising to me to see Rendell and Rangel back Obama quickly
Several weeks before the PA primary, I saw an interview with Ed Rendell (I don't remember with who) and he said something to the effect that he was backing Clinton, he was behind her 100% and he had total faith in her, but if Obama won the nomination, he would "work heart out for him." He could have just said that he would support him and that would have been fine, but his choice of words seemed to me to indicate that he really meant what he said. And I guess he wasn't kidding.

Charles Rangel has always been a Clinton loyalist, and he's also always been 100% about advancing the Democratic party, so I'm not surprised to see that he backed Obama as soon as he had the required number of delegates... and not one minute earlier.
