2. Webb speaking now:
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 05:16 PM by Spider Jerusalem
'would like to recognise the contributions of my friend and colleague Sen. Hillary Clinton; she has reminded us that the strength of the Democratic Party is in recognising the problems of our working men and women--she will continue to give this country great public service'

'This era is going to be led by the next president of the United States, and his name is Barack Obama. I am honoured to stand beside this leader, a man of great intellect...unshakeable composure...has given all of us confidence...the steadiness we want to see in a Commander in Chief'; 'this country needs a president who posesses the intelligence and vision to lead us into the future'

'Barack Obama is going to win Virginia this fall, and he is going to win the presidency'

11. I'm thinking so too.
He keeps making mention of Webb in his speech--refers to his and his son's military service, ideas of economic justice, etc. Playing to the crowd and all, but it could be a bit of a signal, too.

12. I like Webb, but I worry about his Senate seat. We have a chance to
have two Senators from red VA. At least we have a Dem Governor there who can make the appropriate appointment.

OBAMA/WEBB '08?

14. I think he has too many issues with women that McCain could use
like women serving, etc. I also think I remember that he has published stuff in his fiction that might be bad for him if he were to run for VP.

16. Bristol is down I-81 on the Tennessee border.
In fact, the state line runs down the main street of town, State St.
