Hamas Un-Endorses Obama
Not that they actually endorsed him to begin with, IMO.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/06/05/hamas-un-endorses-obama_n_105477.html

The Islamist Hamas movement that rules the Gaza Strip slammed a speech by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama on Wednesday, saying it confirmed US "hostility" to Arabs and Muslims.

"We consider the statements of Obama to be further evidence of the hostility of the American administration to Arabs and Muslims," Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri told AFP.

6. I can't help wondering if Obama deliberately decided to offend the Palestinians
His speech to AIPAC was unbelievable to me. Pretending to believe in Israel as a mono-religious faith-based country that controls the whole of Jerusalem and gets to be the only country in the Mid-East with nuclear weapons.

As an atheist who supports equal rights - I found Obama's speech offensive.

I can only imagine how Palestinian political leaders would have reacted.

10. If you have any ideas about how to win a general election without doing that I'm all ears
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 05:50 PM by Hippo_Tron
Especially when your opponents are running a smear campaign that because of your Arabic middle name you secretly have ties to Islamic fundamentalists.

Please tell me how Obama, or any candidate for that matter, wins this election without taking a hard-line approach to Israel.

12. And maybe we can get Hezbollah to support tax cuts for the wealthy
Also, it would be really great if we could get Ahmadinejad to give a speech about how he really wants a senile old man to be President of the United States.

I think you're definitely on to something...

19. Not a fan of Hamas and not a fan of Israel
We kiss Israel's behind way too much, and AIPAC blinds America to a real solution to the Middle East conflict. I hop J Street can challenge AIPAC within the next couple years. We need a sensible policy in the Middle East, not one that supports Israel's apartheid policies.
