7 Days to cleanse the system of my Clinton-anger

I've read that the Boss says we must rid ourselves of all discourse and infighting over these primaries on June 11th.

That requires action... and a list!

Day 1: Appreciate the talented comedic side of Hillary with a short clip! (Hey, it's Day 1, I can't be expected to be disgust-free at this point, back off!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzoiPnrCwSc

Day 2: Tell self every time I get a drink of water that at least it's not Maker's Mark! (Oh, Crap, now that's not nice. I only have 5 days left, I have to get serious.)

Day 3: Go to Google News and simply search: "Clinton Concedes" and see that the stories are really there, and to understand I can let my frustration with her dissipate.

Day 4: Watch Bill O'Reilly go off the hook in the Remix, and be thankful Hillary's not that crazy!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5j2YDq6FkVE

Day 5: Remember that I should feel compassion for her, because she just lost the most incredibly long and heavily publicized campaign in history.

Day 6: Eat a healthy fiber-filled breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so that on Day 7 I can fully flush "Clinton '08" down the toilet.

Day 7: Watch an inspirational Obama video and put all of her hateful words out to pasture, covering them with my dislike of her & her husband and realize they just did it because they're not used to losing, then smile, and help Sen. Obama become President Obama!

1. Empower yourself by changing your DU ID.
We are winners, not martyrs.

2. She's conceding, she's endorsing, she's not taking it to the convention. That's all I asked for.
I'm not angry at all. I salute her for a tough fight.

7. Oh, I'm still angry at her. She damaged our nominee a little. And she's still a liar.

But she's finally accepted her long-known loss, so it's more a detached "what a fucking waste she became" anger.

19. Right now I'm focusing on what is most productive for November.

There will be plenty of time for campaign post-mortems, for sure. I've made it pretty clear throughout this whole thing that I've been disappointed by the Clintons' behavior in a lot of ways.

But, it's over. So for me, personally, being pissed off at her and focusing on that isn't the most productive use of my energy right now.

3. The simple way is to become a Yellow Dog Democrat!
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 06:37 PM by jody

History of the Yellow Dog Democrat.
A Yellow Dog Democrat is a staunch loyalist to the Democratic Party. These days, the term is widely recognized as an expression of regard and, as such, it is only used in a manner of praise. Yellow Dog Democrats embody loyalty. This is a trait that should never ever be taken for granted by any Party nor by any individual for that matter. The Democrat Party recognizes this, thus correctly acknowledges the Yellow Dog Democrat as some of their "Best Friends".

The term, Yellow Dog Democrat, blossomed during all of the Hoopla which surrounded the 1928 elections, when Al Smith ran for President against Herbert Hoover. During that campaign, Senator Tom Heflin, of Alabama, declined to back his fellow Democrat, Al Smith the Governor of NY. In fact it was much worse than that, Senator Heflin decided to back Herbert Hoover, who would then go on to become President- a Republican President no less. Heflin's controversial actions were considered heresy, especially in the South. As you can imagine, quite a large number of Alabamans vehemently disagreed with Senator Heflin's decision to cross his "Party Lines". Hence, the popular saying, "I'd vote for a yellow dog if he ran on the Democratic ticket" was born! It was adopted as the proud slogan of the staunch party loyalist.

At the time, this phrase certainly did not reflect well on Senator Heflin.

ON EDIT ADD:
Some versions of the YDD use a yellow hound but I chose a pit-bull because I will fight for my party until the end just like a pit-bull.

With his victory, that ends.

10. There seems to be quite a bit of it here this evening
and the sad part is most of the Obama supporters are chiming in.

Can you imagine the outrage if something like this was posted about Obama?

16. something like 'this'
you mean a cathartic 'it's over' post, that shows just one of Hillary's most belittling and mean-spirited mocking of Obama and his supporters? I could have added in Bill's racist comments, and Hillary's multiple references to our nominee maybe getting slaughtered in an assassination so she could ascend to her rightful spot in the White House...

but, I felt after the fiber flush on Day 6, I'd be cleansed of her hatred and contempt for the rules of the primary, and of Obama...

lighten up, Francis.
