Is being VP really better than being a Senator of New York?
I think Hillary's interests are best served if she remained Senator of New York even if Obama really did give her the VP slot.

VP duties is a prestigious title, sure. But the duties of the VP are limited to making formal appearances and casting a tie-breaking vote in the Senate -- a moot point because she is already a Senator and would have to abdicate her position, thereby weakening Dems in the Senate as a whole. Undoubtedly she would want to be President one day, but by the time she finished eight years as the VP, her age would probably prohibit her from being a serious candidate again. Another issue involves the power she'd demand while in office -- would she want to be a vice president or a co-president?

Her desire to become VP stinks of a power grab. She is already influential Senator of a very important state, and she will have more of a political voice in serving in the Senate rather than in the VP office. She'd best serve this country by staying in her seat or by accepting a cabinet position where she could work on healthcare issues.

1. You don't know her desire. As for me, I'm happy w/her as senator
and want her as governor.

My ex-wife still lives in New York State.
I see that as just desserts.

3. It's a good spot if you buy her "doomsday" sceneiros....i.e. her RFK line.....get my drift?
Me? I don't think she should be any where near the Oval Office! I don't trust her or her minions.

5. Exactly, it gets her in the executive branch but with no power.
Of course that is barring a power sharing agreement (which will never happen). She can wield more influence in the senate over a few more years. That's the thirst that can be quenched. She can control quite a bit with that senate seat of hers.

It doesn't make sense for her to even want it.

7. Depends on what the Pres wants the VP to be.
Cheney: The boss
Al Gore: The partner
Quayle: The insurance policy
Bush Sr: The insider

8. I really hope she stays in the Senate.
I believe that her experiences on the campaign trail will make her an even better Senator than she has been to date. I could foresee a legacy for her similar to that which Ted Kennedy has written for himself. Whatever her political future, I wish her well. She has my unending admiration, without reservation.

9. VP is the last roll in government I would want. It can be fine if you are
given a job to do - if not you are setting there for 4 years waiting for a tie in the senate.
