How many votes did McCain get?
Hey all I have a question burning in my brain.

Collectively the Dems Recieved over 38 million Votes during this campaign season.
Now I know there will be some bitter defectives in the GE who will not vote for Obama
but I am curious to know
How many votes did the republicans get during the primaries?

I have tried to find this number but the focus has been on the Dems vote so much I have not been able to find this out.

Anyone know?

1. That's a good question.
I did a Google search but came up with only electoral votes.

3. Here's a Google map, with results for both parties state by ...
state.... you have to click on each state to see the raw vote numbers, so you will have to add them up.

In many states, the Republicans seem to have recieved less than half a million votes total for all candidates, of course, the contest was over early, so probably a lot of Repubs either did NOT vote or voted in Dem primaries if they could.

Really, the number of votes McCain got is not important, more people vote in General Elections.... but if you want to see the totals, they are here on this link.

7. I think this year it may be important, consider how actively the Dems have been registering new
voters, not that all the new voters will vote, or will vote for Obama.
But, I have not heard about a Republican voter registration drive in my area.

6. Another question.
Obama draws 10,000-70,000 to his events.
McMyFriends draws flies.

Yet the race is even?

Please!

9. Not an accurate comparison
Because McCain was the presumptive nominee early in the year, there was not much incentive for them to get out and vote unless it was a protest vote, which some of them did.

I'm just warning against complacency based on primary numbers when the repuke primaries have been over for a long time. Those low numbers may not (and likely will not) translate into November numbers.

11. So how many Registered Repubs Are out there?
I agree and if we all ready had 38 million particpate in the Primaries, How many more will there be in the GE.

And How many people are in America, legal voting age,
not counting felons and non citzens?

that's more a retorical question, but it does seem we have a good headstart.
