2. I'm surprised Obama is not better in WI
Democrats always do better in NJ than the polls reflect

and I'm not surprised about TX

5. Why?
He was down 4 in their last poll. Kerry only won Wisco by 10,000 votes in 2004

26. Proximity means little. McCain is behind in New Mexico.
Wisconsin always quite close in presidential elections, even though at other levels the state party is in free fall.

7. Is Nader included in Wisconsin polls?
Kerry took Wisconsin by 11,400 votes. Nader got 16,400, 1% of the vote. Maybe that's where some of the WI vote is going in the poll.

9. 2012
The Dem. infastructure in the state hasn't so much gone to rot, as it has completely dried up and blown away. The idea that Obama could take a state that big and that expensive this round is about as likely as McCain taking California.

14. Yup, that's the only reason Senator Box-Turtle will cruise to re-election too
Noriega would give him a serious run for his money if Texas wasn't so big and expensive.

21. That's why I like the idea of going after Alaska, Colorado & a small bit of nebraska
If he can get Virginia, the map speaks for itself.
Bob Barr may give us Georgia too :)

8. Good enough
A huge part of the McCain narrative is, "He appeals to Democrats in Wisconsin and Michigan." If Obama can put a bullet in the narrative's head early, the new story becomes, "Obama Close in Virginia, Missouri, and North Carolina; McCain forced to bet it all on holding Ohio."

24. McCain will be a spec in the review mirror by November
McCain has no shot. He is a creepy old man, with anger management issues. He has zero new ideas and is too easily connected to Bush. The truth is already starting to leak on the Bush administration. They are villains and the truth can only be suppressed for so long. Obama landslide.
