Update On My Students' Get-Well wishes To Senator Kennedy:
He signed his book "My Senator And Me" last year for my class. My students wrote to him. Here is that autograph:

I read the book to this year's class, and they sent him some home-made get-well cards. I sent along a note, and explained that he didn't need to respond to their requests for an autograph, etc. I said they were a little "star-struck," when I showed them his autograph in the book. They just wanted him to get well, and they were delighted to see Splash on t.v. with the Senator.
Today, I got an envelope with a U.S. Senate return address, and inside was an autographed 8" X 10"!
The autograph even soaked through a bit! Sorry, I had some trouble scanning it, and will post it here tomorrow (hopefully). That he would take time to do this, when he is going through so much, moves me more than words can say:grouphug: :yourock: Senator Kennedy!

1. He known for thoughtful acts such as this
and that is one of the big reasons so many people love him. How can we not?

Sam

PS I am sure those students will be thrilled.

4. I certainly hope so.
He's one of the only political heroes I've ever had. And if anyone is strong enough, it's Ted.

5. Very cool, Dinger.
It's great that you had your students send him get well cards. :yourock: What grade do you teach? Hopefully, you're sparking their interest in the political process.

I sure am looking forward to seeing your new photo...hope you don't run into problems posting it. :hi:

7. Elementary
I am teaching a 3/4 split this year. Third grade next year. It will be posted tomorrow. I had a little trouble with the scanner. It's a VERY busy time now. Tomorrow is the last day of school (for the kids that is).

8. Happy last day of school (with kids) to you!
Third grade is a fun age, IMHO. Not sure about fourth though.

12. No Complaints
It's not a partisan book, just about a day in the life of a U.S. Senator, from a dog's perspective. I'm sending an article about it to local papers (which usually print what I send them) and putting it on my website, which my principal encouraged me to do.:)
