Dem Congresswoman Nancy Boyda (KS 2nd district) won't endorse Obama
and isn't even going to Denver.

Nancy used to be a Republican. She switched to Dem and even joined the anti-war protests in Kansas City. Then she moved to Topeka and ran for Congress. And the day she was inaugurated in Jan of 07 she came out in support of the surge.

She beat one of the worst Repukes - Jim Ryun - and he is running against her to take the seat back.

But Nancy needs to decide whether she wants to be a Dem and support our presidential candidate or a Repuke and work against the party. Kansas has a great chance of turning blue and the state Dems need Nancy's support.

1. I agree. It is like our FL Dems who are fearful of losing...
and won't stand for anything.

16. Here is a link.
http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?docid=news-000002888488

"Barack Obama ’s Democratic colleagues in the Senate seem ready to turn to the fall campaign and rally behind him as the party’s soon-to-be presidential nominee. But in the House, some members of the Blue Dog Coalition of conservative Democrats say they’ll keep their distance from Obama, at least until after the party formally nominates the Illinois senator at the Democratic National Convention in late August.

Of the roughly 30 House members who have yet to declare a preference in the presidential primaries, which ended June 3, 16 are Blue Dogs.

“Frankly, none of the presidential candidates for either party is doing real well in my district. It’s not a good idea to get close to any of them,” said Charlie Melancon of Louisiana.

“No, I won’t be endorsing anyone,” agreed fellow Blue Dog Charlie Wilson of Ohio.

Nancy Boyda of Kansas represents a district that is part of Obama’s family story — his mother was born into a military family at Fort Leavenworth and has ties in the area around the University of Kansas.
But Boyda probably won’t be escorting Obama around campus in the foreseeable future, and she says she may even skip the convention. “I’m going to stay focused on doing my job. The good people of Kansas are fine with that,’’ Boyda said."

She could do her job and stand with the nominee. This is shameful.

Allen Boyd and Tim Mahoney in FL still won't endorse either. Blue Dogs.

24. Obama won Kansas *Democrats* by a wide margin. She runs in the general election to get to Congress.
There will always be something moderately 'wrong' with Kansas.

especially in terms of fund raising. The repubs will likely also realize this and redouble their spending on the race, if she loses because of that, it'll be her own fault

12. Dan Boren (DINO from OK) has said he won't endose either
http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/article.aspx?articleID=20080610_1__WASHI08203

snip...

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Dan Boren, D-Okla., said Tuesday he will not endorse Barack Obama for president.

"I still remain very concerned about the (Obama) voting record being the most liberal of the United States Senate,’’ said Boren, a superdelegate to this summer’s national Democratic convention in Denver.

He expressed support for what he described as a "centrist” agenda, adding his party’s presumptive nominee’s record does not reflect that approach.

snip...

He disgusts me.

That "most liberal" label automatically gets attached by the RW to whoever the Dems nominate.

The NR picks out certain votes to make it look like whoever is "most liberal." They could make Casey or Baucus "most liberal" if they wanted.

26. Bizarre. Obama's so ridiculously inclusive that he's getting scads of thoughtful Republicans.
I hate saying this, but I suspect there may be other issues besides "most liberal" motivating these reluctant Dems.

39. Kucinich
wont endorse anyone who is not waaaay over to the left. I love the guy but he is stubborn and really sticks to his principals. Obama is a centrist -- much like the Clintons. Dennis would never endorse a Clinton either.

He would maybe endorse Ted Kennedy.. :D Who, BTW, is the most liberal Senator we have.

(I would have voted for Kucinich had he been in the race when I voted -- but he and Edwards were gone - I voted for Obama here in red san diego.)

36. This is why I would rather not have the DLC/Blue Dogs
They are turncoats...they build their careers out of being turncoats. They take advantage of our "big tent" to provide them with political cover as they do the willing work of the pukes from the the inside of the party ala Joe Leiberman. Then, when the dust settles and a new shiny Republican law goes into effect to screw the American people, these pukes can claim they had "bipartisan support" and the rank and file Dems are dismissed as "fringe".

I want them all removed. The other party is their home. In our party, they only serve to fuck things up for us and enable repukes.
