Since he, they say, won't release his birth certificate.


First off... he has a valid passport....he has travelled out of the country many times in his adult life. You can't get a passport without proof of citizenship.



I won't link to them.... but it's the current buzz all over FreeRepublic and other right-wing sites.



I love this kind of thing... makes the Repukes look even dumber.


Sometimes I wonder if Malkin is actually working for us.

My brother was born in a hospital OFF-base, also in panama, and we were told that because of it, he would have dual citizenship, since he was born off-base..out of the Canal Zone....and that he could never be president..but he's an ass so no one would ever vote for him anyway:)

No state will release a copy of a birth certificate except under specific conditions of request from affected persons. The fact that the birth is recorded exists within teh public record and is obtainable.

What Malkin and her ilk want to find is some form of damning information on the birth certificate. Most likely, record of race, religion, or something else they think they can use to beat the drums of racism and bigotry.

of "natural born citizen" is not obvious, but in Britain "natural born subjects of the King" included any child whose parents were subjects of the king. If Obama's father was not a citizen (am I right that he was Kenyan, or was he a naturalized citizen?), and Obama was born in a foreign country, then an argument could be made that since one of his parents is not American, he cannot legally become POTUS. Fortunately, he was born in the United States and that clearly makes him a natural born citizen. McCain seems to qualify because both his parents were citizens.

I have my birth certificate in front of me and the info on there is common knowledge, and recorded other places. I think they play into the game when they resist things as stupid as this. So the point is, they are blowing it way out of proportion. He was born in Honolulu Hawaii in 1961. That is in teh public record and nothing else is needed.
